i dont blame him for wanting out. After losing his job to Mason the year before there was no way he was going to start over Russ. He saw the writing on the wall.

I think with the right OC KP would have been a whole lot better than what we witnessed. I'm with steel vision I don't blame Kenny at all. He did what anybody would do in his situation, he was never going anywhere with MT and the steelers.

you know, i can only guess, but he may have been so frustrated with the steelers that he just wanted out. And philly is his home. Probably had very little to do with beating out hurts.

He could have git the starts Fields git and built on it

He could have had a fair chance this year

But he tucked tail and ran

And now karma struck his pansy ass and little hands and stuck them in Cleveland

Sometimes there is a happy ending

alot of people would get mad in that situation, like i said, i dont blame him. I may not agree with his choice of destination but to each his own. Steelers are not infallible. Its possible they may not have handled the situation correctly. After all, This is the team that kept Canada around for a few years too many. I won’t even get started on our fearless leader.

There are some folks who don't know how a QB functions... it's just a place to scream at, like Head Coaches. They are lightning rods.
But in this case, they drafted the kid (way too soon) and KNEW he was a project at best. I remember Omar the brain even saying so.
Yet he was the best QB in camp that year, as the guy they got to mentor him was proven interception machine.
AND, they kept one of the worst OC's to ever function in that role to build an offense for him. (My God, they put him in the games and had him throwing 50 passes! Darwin award?)
I once quipped, that bunch would F*** up a rookie Peyton Manning. I meant it.
"Set up for Failure" is the capture phrase.

I am hoping Howard, who is in the exact same position (though drafted better) and has a far, far better mentor in Rogers... isn't put through the same mess.
I think Arthur Smith is light years ahead of that idiot Canada... but I would have liked them to have sought out a better OC but it is what it is.

There are always going to be Steelers fans that make excuses for Pickett, the same that will make excuses for Marino.....just because of where they played, or come from.
They talk about he got mad, and left, got mad at what.....got mad that he was....
    1. Drafted too high, and therefore got a better contract, so more money than he deserved??
    2. Had to actually compete after they just handed him the job??
    3. That the offense actually looked better after he was benched???
Is this why he got mad???
So instead of competing against a washed Wilson, or a terrible Fields, he left, and went to Philly to beat out Hurts..LoL...., and now is trying to beat out 58 different Qbs in Cleveland???

He may have wanted out, but don't think Philly had anything to do with it. He was traded and had no say in where, right?
