    This is for that crowd.

I watch this guys analysis every week and admittedly, he's a Pickett fan and gushes over him every week. But he's dead on accurate with this play.

If you think he stares down his WRs, watch this throw. It's clear as day he's looking left to hold the safety on the left hash before letting it fly to Pickens down the right sideline.

Can we please stop with the "he stares down his receivers and goes to his first read crap?"

Hell, I pointed that out on the game day thread right after the play happened. It was obvious live that he looked off the safety.

We just appreciate that you didn't make a useless nearly 10 minute video of the obvious.

Yes, but unfortunately seeing it explained on video is necessary for many.

Hopefully he can continue to make strides the last few games heading into next year. His Yards per attempt and TD/INT ratio are some of the worst numbers in all of football.

At least he knows how to throw it away and live to make another play. Ben was allergic to that.

Ben's pump fake was a thing of beauty.

    That’s called retirement

    It’s actually kind of nice

He is getting better every game

But in the beginning he was most definitely staring down receivers

Early on the criticism was warranted

Hopefully he is also getting a more open playbook a little more at a time

If the guy narrating and drawing up these 10 minute videos is retired then I'm doing something wrong. He sounds like he's about 28. At the rate I'm going I'll be either 70 or dead before I retire.

Even the Yugo had a break-in period. :sneak:;+)

Please don't compare KP to a Yugo.

Ryan Leaf would be a better simile.

Comparing Ryan to the Yugo or to KP...

    :sneak:;+)

(I like KP. I don't know if he's going to pan but I like him for who he isn't more than who he is, for now.)

Never happen, hands are too small, the ball would come flying out on the pump fake. :lolol:

Comparing Ryan Leaf to a Yugo or maybe a garbage truck would be more accurate.

Funny. I mentioned this on the other thread, but I think Steve DeBerg is the only other NFL quarterback I've seen pump fake like that.

He wasn't doing it as often as people thought even then. He goes through progressions quickly. What he had to learn to do was make his first look obvious when he was looking off a safety so they were more likely to buy it.

That said, he does still stare down his receiver some of the time and he was doing it more when he first got into the lineup. As you said, he's getting better. That's something that is a problem for many young quarterbacks.

You are so right. And he can move. Ben looked like he was wearing cement shoes for many years now. Ben could shed tackles like nobodys business but I dont thiink Kenny has the size or strength to do that.

    Technically, he used a metaphor.

(I'm not retired; I've got too much time on my hands.)

If he did now, he would take a sack. When our line can consistently form and hold a pocket that would be a nice addition to the arsenal!
