Who thinks Kenny Pickett must start at Buffalo, he is our QB1 and gives us best chance to win? If Tomlin does not start Kenny it's just another Tomlin blunder? It's stupid to start a career bench player Mason Rudolph in the playoffs when your franchise QB Kenny Pickett is available, who does that?!

Yes, we are fishing for Kenny Pickett supporters. It's a roll call for our franchise quarterback. Who has the conviction?!

How can Tomlin still consider Pickett their #1 if he benched him for Rudolph? Wouldn't that make Pickett #2?

I just hope Tomlin doesn't pull a "Tomlin" and start Pickett against the Bills

It isn’t that complicated. Play the hot hand over the guy who has been out for over a month.

How can a career bench QB lucky to be #3 on an NFL team have a hot hand? Over your franchise QB #1?

I'm calling all Kenny supporters, do not be afraid, it is a winning argument! Show your conviction!
If Kenny plays and wins, or Mason plays and loses, you get a chance at I told you so; and if Kenny loses or Mason wins you get to say the other one would not have done any better. You cannot lose the argument or look like arse, you just need to support your guy!

Has Tomlin said for sure that Rudolph is their starter against the Bills?

I think Tomlin names Mitch the starter because he knows the Bills system the best. (Green font).

Don’t know what I’m supposed to be afraid of here but ok, I’ll play. Buffalo is 4th in sacks with 54, in all likely hood this will be an ugly Rudolph game. I’d start Pickett who I think plays better out of structure than Rudolph.

I posted about this in another thread about how the Steelers may approach it. It’s tough to make the switch now.

    What other thread?

I still like Kenny as our franchise QB. I can't wait to see what he does next year with a new OC.

Right now, I am glad to see Kenny sitting in the Backup #2 spot ready to come in if he needs to. I pray we never see Mitch again.

You're right. The Bill defense has turned up the volume too.
I'm a bit torn but I think I'd prefer Kenny to sit and heal that ankle up even more. I'd love to get him that playoff experience though. (where every snap counts big)
I would make sure both are tuned to the game plan. Mitch starts.
The time on the bench is not hurting him at all.

You are watching it happen. Their No. 1 quarterback (Tomlin's words) has been out for over a month. He is a guy they still seem to believe in for the long term, but he's not so established that you are going to throw him out there with five weeks of rust in place of a guy who is doing a solid job. I'm sorry that is too complex and nuanced for you.

I hate to say lucky to be on the team given the circumstances, but if you were too blind to see that was a possibility last season if Haskins hadn't died, you don't have enough knowledge of the situation to be in a conversation about it. I thought bringing him back as a No. 3 for this season was a good decision. I wrote as much at the time. He has exceeded expectations, but he still shows some of his old flaws the relative lack of competition has been covered ad nauseam. Please try harder to keep up.

Not all of us have a magic TV that tells us stuff like "Mason is Tom Brady."

You have a good point. To expand, Mason did not even get any interests while dangling out there on the Free Agent Market.
It was a good a great decision to bring him back.
I happen to be of the thinking that the front office was too stubborn to admit Mitch was a fail, and they gave him an extension to boot.
Otherwise, Mitch would be gone and Mason would have been #2 all along.

It is tough to guess, but one scenario I think about is the Steelers might be inclined to let Mason leave via Free Agency.
With Mitch and Mason gone, they could pick up a Vet and draft a backup (3rd).
It is a big change of scenery, a fresh reboot.

    Re Vets:
I can't see a Cousins here, too much money.
Tyrod Taylor is an interesting FA, not my type of QB but he fit the bill as he is 34, can get into the endzone, and won't be costly.
Can't say I would endorse that but I've heard talk of it.
Jacoby Brisset is a similar scenario.
