And screw you Canada for putting him in shotgun. While our running game was working.

Canada doesn’t even have a non-shotgun running play, or an inside running play with a lead blocker. He’s a frickin game wrecker of an OC

I didn't like the play call either, but Pickett didn't need to roll out, right into a defender. Something he seems to do a lot. I would have preferred a play-action roll out where Kenny could throw it or run it. Hind sight is always 20/20 though.

It's not hindsight for all of us. I was yelling at the television for them to kick the damn field goal. Then I was yelling that it was idiotic to be in the shotgun. Pickett could have handled the play better, but his coaches put him in a terrible situation, as they have done consistently this season.

4th and 1. If he’s in the shotgun then quick throw to get the 1st. Having him stand waiting for the play to develop is asinine

He hasn’t even had an MRI yet and one knucklehead on the game day thread already diagnosed the injury and gave the prognosis

Yeah it was a 49 yard FG attempt that Boswell probably makes to cut the Texans lead to 7. It was a poor choice to go for it at all.

Why are you surprised? I've been writing about what it means if he is lost for the season, but that is far from certain. There are bad signs. That he could barely put any weight on it is bad. That they immediately ruled him out for the game is worse. The MRI is a bad sign, too, but it's all speculation right now.

That is exactly my point. Going for it there pretty much puts the entire game on one play for the offense. There was plenty of time left. I'm sure some will point to the defense giving up a touchdown drive after that, but that failed play and Pickett's injury seemed to take all the fight out of the Steelers. I don't know if that touchdown drive happens if the Steelers don't hand the Texans the momentum.

    I’m not surprised

The same knucklehead has done this before

    He was also entirely wrong

Does it really matter at this point? They can play any QB on the roster and the results will be the same. Might as well give him some time to heal.

I think a few weeks off will help his mind too. He is skittish out there and feeling pressure that isn't there.

Many are pointing out how Pickett tends to spin and turn left out of a clean pocket. That was just such a play. Broderick Jones cannot be faulted for that sack, Kenny ran into it. He’s playing with a total lack of confidence and football awareness right now and those were supposed to be his strengths.

MRI is standard. Any swelling, pain with bearing weight, or felt/heard pop. Doesn't mean anything yet.

I agree. Giving him a few weeks off might be the best thing for him, but it might be more than that, which would be a huge problem.

He has a terrible offensive design, receivers who don't get separation nearly often enough, and an offensive line he can't trust. It's not like there aren't other factors leading Pickett to make rushed judgments like he did on that play.

Broderick Jones is the biggest loser in all of this!! That is the part that stinks the most! Most people who are new to watching NFL Games or not up to date with how the Steelers operate will lay heavy blame on Broderick.

Is it fair to say Broderick could have done a bit better sustaining that block?! Sure. Did Kenny Pickett still have a nasty habit of running into pressure?! Absolutely.

Did Canada place both Jones and Pickett into unwinnable situations?! Most definitely.

    FIRE MATT CANADA!!

Mitch should be able to at least survive the Ravens Defense.
He probably could win the game if he had a proper play caller.
    He is experienced.

Don’t need an QB out there that won’t be able to protect himself with a stiff knee.

I don't care what the MRI shows. Pickett needs to sit next week. You are correct. Even if the results of the MRI are good, it is unlikely he would be 100 percent, which is a good way to get him hurt even more. He could also use a week or two to sit and watch, to really focus on the opportunities that are there. I think that is the best way to right the ship for him, if it is possible.

Like he always does. I mean, WTF? Is he doing that on his own? If so, correct it! If not, who TF is coaching that? My son's high school team is run better than this. It's terrible.
