Kenny addresses rumor

Thanks Blast, **** Madden. IDK what KP was really feeling, it is something that should be handled between him and MT. As I was running through some YT after work, my feed kept getting more and more vids of people running with Madden's piece. What KP does with the team will be determined by what he does and how he performs, its a business, but just sick of the constant feed social media feels they need to harass without verified sources for clicks.

 

I like how he came out and wanted to clear his name. These guys are told to tune out the outside noise but it's gotta be hard when people are attacking your character. Hopefully it's put to rest.

 

It was always an unlikely story. I don’t know why Madden threw it out there, other than to stir up trouble. He seems to hate the Steelers.

 

I was very sceptical about those claims tbh, as I am sure others on here were too. It made no sense, Kenny is not stupid and knows that he is not established enough to behave like that, and it also seemed out of character from what we know.

Madden made ridiculous claims about TJ skipping a mandatory end of year team meeting a few years ago as well, also wasn’t true. I don’t know why people listen to him. He will double down now and say Kenny is lying rather than admit he put out a false report.

 

I remember, what I want to know, does he still have a Steelers press cred? Seriously, if he has a source within, how hard would it be to out that person, if such a person exists, is he violating team policy spreading things that could be considered harmful to the entire unit? I know freedom of press and all that jazz, but protected press is also (or used to be) verified truth. Now a source can be a person selling hot dogs, hears a sneeze, and Madden reports the entire team has covid, lol.

Yeah, the rumors never made much sense to me either. Situationally, I thought what did was for it to come down to Mason getting another start and KP being out, deemed not quite ready by Tomlin and/or the rest of the staff.

KP likely would have started in Seattle if he'd shown demonstrably to be the QB1 this year. But it was hard not to give Mason another look with as bad as the offense has looked. A second solid performance by that unit and they could formally discuss/announce that KP would be the QB2 against Baltimore.

That is why, to stir up trouble. Madden is a fraud and everyone knows it. He supposedly has real sources with the Penguins, but that's all he has. I'm not even sure about that, but I'll take the word of others. I don't read anything Madden writes or listen to anything he says. I have met very few guys in the media for whom I have less respect. I doubt anybody here would recognize any of the names I would put below his, though maybe from a police blotter.

Madden is an embarrassment to actual sports journalists, a liar, and a fraud. He is also gutless, avoiding the locker room and other player media availabilities with the Steelers so he doesn't have to face any of those guys. I still know some good people who work at the Trib. I feel bad for them having to see his name on a website with theirs.

By the way, that's not hatred. It is disdain. I don't think I exchanged 10 words with the guy, but I saw how he operated and heard enough from others to know he doesn't deserve respect from me or anybody else.

 

Media loves making drama out of nothing..... like they did with Pickens.

 

That wasn't nothing. He was dogging it on the field and making an ass of himself on social media.

Please don't lump the media in with Madden. Almost all of them deserve better.

I wasn't sure whether the rumor about KP refusing to play or not was true. Then when I found out that the source was Mark Madden, I knew immediately they weren't true.

I agree with this and would go as far to suggest that this is part of his attempt to remain relevant. He picks on high profile targets to get attention, even if it is bad attention.

I don’t even bother listening to, or reading, anything associated with him.

 

Yes, we can all do a little happy dance now! Mitch Trubisky will be sent to the Emergency 3rd string Inactive spot.

I for one am glad that there are no more questions to who will be backing up Mason on Saturday.

 

Good to hear straight from Kenny about this. DK said on his podcast this morning that it was absolutely not true but it’s nice to hear it from the horse’s mouth. I believe him, case closed. His strongly worded comment that he would’ve started and played if the coaches and trainers felt like he was ready was interesting.

 

You would have to think that Trubisky has taken his last snaps as a Steeler. I can't imagine them bringing him back next year.
