Again, this thread is about Pickett. If this thread was about the entire offense I would have said it about the entire offense.

Just finished watching and what a game!!!! But I was starting to get concerned after the first couple of games. But after the Raider game, I saw the guy I saw last year and have been worrying less and less.

After last week, I was thinking things might be coming together. I tend to drink the Kool-Aid, but damn I'm ready to crown him after the past two games!!!!!

Yeah Cole stinks this year. I wonder if he’s got some nagging injury or something. I thought he was pretty solid last year.

It generally happens with QB's that they get the most praise and the most blame. Nobody is saying "WOW look how good the offense played down the stretch! The OL was giving great time, the backs were running hard, and the OC was calling an actual offense!". They say "Kenny turned on in the 4th quarter and led the team to victory". If that is the way it works, I think it is fair to have Kenny shoulder a lot of the blame for having 93 yards passing in the first 3 quarters. It's always a team effort (good or bad), but as the leader of the offense the QB can cover for a lot of deficiencies with really good play.

We have to remember that the offense had 110 yards through 3 quarters. Without Watt's pick taking us inside the 10, we were probably looking at 3 total points through 3 quarters. That is REALLY bad. Failure on 3rd downs, lack of running lanes, costly penalties, and sacks taken all played into this issue. Its awesome that we turned it on and won the game, but we still have to be better if we want to keep winning games. There's gonna be a time where the offense has to pick the defense up and win one, and it doesn't look like a unit that is capable of that at the moment.

All of that is true but it is really amazing that a team that has been out gained by 660 yards this season is 4-2.

Yes, it is. It is a testament to the defense for getting enough turnovers and not allowing so many points that we are out of striking distance. It is a testament to the offense that they have been able to get it done when we've needed it the most.

It isn't a formula that we can continue to lean on though. Eventually these statistics will catch up to us if we don't find a way to correct them.

Agreed. They have to get better. They have to start better. The margin of error is just so small with this team. That seemed to be on display the first three quarters. They seemed to be close to making plays and getting first downs, but there would be a penalty, a blown blocking assignment, or a pass that was a little off target every time. Once they started executing consistently, they started scoring.
