i'm sure we will since the owner made that a high priority. butler likes his LB'ers though. i just wonder what life may be like if we had shazier and darron lee both at ILB.

We surely won't draft an ilb. We are loaded there. I would rather keep Spence than draft someone

we would have to sign spence. timmons has 10 seasons on him and makes a ton of money. shazier can't stay on the field a full season. williams is it and in his final season under contract.

that's what I meant. sign spence. I guess if shazier cant stay on the field then you would have to keep wondering what it would be like to have both.lol just playing

Mac, would you feel confident if Fort was forced into being a starter? I am just curious, cause there has been a lot of talk on here about our young guys stepping up. We are a win now team imo, and really with the talk of guys like James, Fort, Hubbard, McCullers, Walton, Golson, Grant and Chickillo all possible stepping up has me a little worried. I have been a guy who has talked about these names as guys who could step in but after thinking more and more about it as a win now team this has me worried a bit. Whats your thoughts on our young guys having to step up and play more, I am hopeful but nervous if we have to many on the field at a time.

Camp is really going to be interesting this year because of the need of guys like Golson, McCullers and Grant to have to show SOMETHING. I'm really rooting for McCullers because if he could just pan out and be the force we need him to be, it could be a positive ripple effect throughout the entire defense. Really making our DE's (especially Heyward) even more deadly.

I want Tomlin to be a Harry Hardass this year on the entire team. Give them serious expectations and drive this team to those expectations. No hand holding; no coddling; Go hard on these guys. Go after it!!

I feel what we do in fa and the draft will also make it interesting. I so feel like we are gonna end up with either IIoka or Weddle to strengthen the S position but also end up with a guy in the 3rd or 4th to groom. I feel Golson and Grant are going to prevent us from drafting a CB high, not saying that is right I just have this gut feeling the Steelers think if we re sign Gay, getting Golson back and Grant has a year under his belt teamed up with Cockrell that we will be fine. So watching Golson and Grant in camp will be fun...I hope. Lots of young guys, this roster is getting a nice dose of youth, and with so many jobs up in the air camp should be good.

i have no worries at all about fort. he has nfl starting experience and may be better than spence actually. he's done well every time he's played be it ST's or even last preseason. now he has some added knowledge of the defense.

golson will be starting fresh so he of any of the above mentioned has more to prove. the others i think can contribute. even guys like lyons, walton, chickillo, james and a couple of other D-linemen that we have in here now are in the plans to contribute as added depth.

hubbard they like and he has gotten better and his ability to play that LT spot as a backup just adds to his worth. he can now play most positions across the o-line. finney they seem to like too. we will see how he's come along. i'm sure his time in the weight room will help him.

frey is another guy that has some nfl experience. he should have a better knowledge of the defense too after being on the PS all last year.

I have read some people are high on Fort and Frey, I am embarrassed to say I haven't seen much of these guys so I have no opinion only what you all post. I am glad you mentioned Finney I hope he takes the next step. Loved the video of him when the Steelers signed him, if you haven't seen it google it but I am sure most here have. It has been a while since we have had this much potential young talent, I can't wait to see these guys in camp.
