Jerry Olsavsky is in his second season as the defensive assistant coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers. In this position, Olsavsky assists in all areas of the defensive staff in their daily operations.

Greg Lloyd is not listed in the list of Eagles coaches. Bring him in as LBs coach.

Crap!! I laughed at the notion that losing BA to Indy would bite us in the ass, but this really might. I figured Butler would be the guy in two or three years. Maybe he's seen LeBeau with his shirt off and knows it will be longer than that...

    I think you nailed it!

I'd look at someone from the TCU staff to replace Butler/Olslavsky as I like their defensive scheme.

Nope, just speculation on my end that Jerry could fill Butler's role as LBC (if Butler leaves), and then Mr. New Guy could replace Olslavsky as Defensive Assistant.

I'm all for bring Lloyd in to coach our linebackers. Maybe they will learn something other than the bull rush to get to the passer.

And while you at it, bring in Bruce Smith to teach our dlinemen some pass rushing techniques.

I'll take Kevin Green as a LB's coach.

Me too. But I don't think we can get him, can we? The only way we can pull him from GB is to promote him, right? Or do I not understand that rule?

So essentially we just hire the entire 1995 D as coaches? I like it.

I wasn't aware there was a rule about gettig coaches off of other teams. More that, if you're a successful LB coach, then why would you accept a move sideways when you could move up...

I don't think I want Lloyd anywhere near this team. And let's face it, his specialty is rushing the passer from the OLB position. Harrison and Woodley? They are fine in that regard. In fact, they're fine in every regard.

But Bruce Smith as assistant DL coach I would take in a heartbeat. Love that guy, and I agree our DL underperforms to their abilities in the pass rush. I wonder what Bruce is doing these days.

I knew it when I read that DL was returning. Keith Butler is too good to sit and wait for DL to go. Too bad. We need to find someone for when he does.

An article at NFL.com says the Steelers are still negotiating a contract for Butler. Maybe they can convince him to stay?? Make him assistant head coach like they did Russ Grimm?

Apparently Art II said "You WILL sign this contract and cancel your interview with Indy"

Great news. I wonder if Butler has a bit more leverage now on his future position. There's nothing like going to your employer and saying "look, these other guys offered me X,Y and Z, and I turned it down to stay - so I better be getting something good in the future..."

I imagine there's nothing like that, anyways. I think the one time I did that to an employer they politely asked why I hadn't left, as they didn't really need me anymore...
