Funny how everybody knows that the Steelers have the offensive edge this week, especially in the running game. So what do the Chiefs do?
They re-sodded their field between the hash marks this week in the heated field, which will make the running game a quagmire.

The best passing routes and footing will be the short outs, which is Alex Smith's strength. And now the field conditions should be helpful in the kick return game, which is also a Chief's strength with Tyreek Hill. Outside the has marks will be where the best footing is, and where the Chiefs have a decided advantage due to Smiths passing strengths, and Hills, return strength.

The field is heated, so it won't be frozen, it will be muddy.

I hope the Steelers factored this into their game plan, because the Steeler strength is the middle of the field, the quagmire.

The only thing that comes to mind is who cares. It wont' be a factor.

Besides, this is why you earn home field advantage

I am more worried about Red Zone Conversion Rates and which team does most with their scoring opportunities than some sod on a field. :lolol:

Not like our run defense is stellar, and field conditions are the same for both teams. Quag it up please. May be to our benefit.

Wasn't it Marv Levy that said "When it's too tough for them it's just right for us?" I can't wait til next year when everyone is talking about how Andy Reid has a great record of 19-4 coming off of a bye week. :herewego!::towel::yeehaw:

It's not like Heinz Field has the best turf in the world. The Steelers have experience playing on a bad field.

That's ok Bell will take the hand off wait for the water to part like the Red Sea then hit the hole.:smiley1: We have the horses upfront and Bell is one tough mudder F er to bring down. Not sure there is any intention there either because I don't think they wanna make themselves one dimensional. The best chance they have is keeping our D off balance. We have more playmakers outside the hash marks then they do ,so pick your poison.

Playmakers are playmakers. Talent is talent. We are not an indoor track type of team. We have a team of mudders. Ben has a fantastic record in the cold. Bell says he loves running and being physical in the cold weather and he's used to running in terrible conditions.

    We'll be just fine

This is great news for Bell and our runnjing game. If they hadn't replaced it, it certainly would have been mud. The grass was gone. If it's heated, then the ice and rain can easily drain. Keep in mind, the Steelers replace the turf on Heinz Field as well every year after Pitt and the high schools are done.

Well, if this hurts the run game, shouldn't that help the Steelers' D?

This game will come down to turnovers and special teams. If we give great field position or miss FG's we will lose. KC is #1 in the league in turnover margin. If we turn the ball over we will lose. If we can take care of the ball and not choke on special teams we win.

The wildcard is not the field conditions, it's the coaching. You never know when Tomlin will make some insane decision that screws the team. (2 point conversion, 4th down on our own 45, trick play , not taking the easy FG, clock miss management, ect. ) When that Tomlin shows up anything can happen. Tomlin is the Charlie Day of our gang. He's our wildcard.
