    Think you're on to something:

The Chiefs list nobody on Status Report, indicating everybody is probable. But Hali (knee) didn't practice Fri; Houston (knee) was limited

I understand and agree. Not arguing in the least. This is one and done. If a player can play they will.

Punting OB carries its own intrinsic distance penalty.

True, but it makes no sense why KOs are penalized on OOB kicks, whereas with a punt, you have an opportunity to pin the opponent with bad field position, but can screw up and give them good field position. With KO's, it's 100% penalty. No sense whatsoever.

Keep in mind, a kickoff can be recovered by the kicking team. A punt cannot. So, the out of bounds rule kind of makes sense.

I completely agree I've been looking at this game and our special teams play will need to step up big. We've been shaky on special teams all year. We've looked good in all other departments in our winning streak. Kelce, Hill, and Maclin are the players we need to shutdown. Ware has looked a little rundown and banged up in the last couple games. Although they do have West who can do about the same thing as Ware.

It almost always comes down to can we get pressure on the QB. Like last Sunday we'll need to get to the QB and cause some turnovers. I think Tomlin and the crew have an idea who's healthy or not. I'm sure they'll game plan for Houston and Hali even if at 50%.

Everyone already knows who's hurt and banged up... It's meaningless psychological warfare at this point

Unless you boot the kickoff through the end zone, it will be returned. You can't really avoid a dangerous return man, other than a touchback. If you kick off OB, where would you fairly spot the ball for the receiving team? They get it at the 25 for touchbacks; if the kicking team can't kick it that well, then the 25 seems an unfair result for an OB kick (that does let you avoid the returner).

If you try to avoid the returner by punting OB, your angled punt nets far fewer yards than if you'd hit it down Main Street. So you've "penalized" yourself.

I will be highly disappointed if the Steelers kick to Hill in any fashion,
He has shown that he is a game changer, negate his chances.

a KO is a free ball after 10 yards, where a punt can only be downed by the kicking team unless touched by the receiving team first.

I understand the rules, it just doesn't make sense. Why the penalty? Why not just mark it where it went out? Or, why not penalize punts in the same manner?

I get it, just don't agree because it's not very logical.
