Right now he is great for both. For that matter, that is what you want from your GM ideally; being both great from a team development/talent acquisition stand point while also having great relations with the Owner. Having both allows the Organization run more proficiently and efficiently.

fans are a win now sort. they signed tomlin for 3 more. four counting this one. i believe he has a plan for that without getting us set into long term expensive contracts for good but not great players. seems like age is a factor and he's building a younger team with easier contracts along with not so great vets but one's able to help the younger ones. spending money on certain positions in free agency but not breaking the bank. keeping us competitive, but has his players in place to take over on rookie deals. let it play out i say. i do think he has a plan.

I agree with Mac, the team was not a cellar dweller when he took over, but the overall talent and several years of overall unspectacular (if not outright bad) drafts left a lot of holes in the entire team. It's not a sign one mega FA and reach the goal. His first draft looks very solid, this draft could be as well. the major FA signing this year could fill the ILB need we have had for years. We know from his history Omar has a good CAP strategy, so the plan has to include all the ingredients. Think he is off to an impressive start, we will see how it actually works out.

We won't actually know for a few more years, but I hope He's doing well.

If you are looking for a bargain hunter look up the Pittsburgh Pirates.

We need Paul Skenes to play QB for the Steelers and his girlfriend to be our 1st returning cheerleader. Omar will then be considered King of all GM’s.

So far so good with Kahn, he appears to be doing a very good job building the roster

The big challenge will be finding the long term franchise QB. They won’t be a factor in the postseason until then

correct. BUT - RW could have it in him, to advance in Jan. This team seems solid foundation wide, provided they remain in tact - relatively healthy. TJ goes down and we all know Tomlin cannot win w/o him on the field. With Herbig coming on, take TJ off the field more. Keep him fresh.

    Biggest concerns for 2024:
    1) #2 WR - I still bet we land Aiyuk or another household name, to be #2.
    2) the gauntlet of Schedule the 2nd half of the season. Our DIV is nasty good.
    3) they need one more corner that can play, now. not Trice. He will not be very impactful again this year, I fear.

that said, if we get into the Playoffs, Tomlin may luck into a WIN with RW and other strong leadership on this team, and a Top 5 defense.

I like his style. Has a different approach than Colbert, we’ll see if that turns out to be better long term.

Him and Weidl make a good pair.

I'm confused with the Tomlin does everything, and is the final decision crowd.....How would changing GMs effect anything???? LoL.
Like I said can't have it both ways.

Bargain finder? In years past the steelers haven't been big in the free agent market. Not true lately. The Steelers have ALWAYS paid their players first. there have been a few hiccups with that but in large part the Steelers have been up against the salary cap for years. That indicates they are not pinching pennies or looking for bargains

This!! Khan has done a solid job so far. But the man behind the scenes Weidl has been a large part in the last two drafts as well as player evaluation. He will get a GM position for sure. Hopefully not to soon.
