I understand what he is saying. Ben was a rookie in 05 and the offensive line and run game weren’t very good in 08 and 10. But the team around Ben was so dominant in 05 and they could bludgeon opponents with their physicality. They don’t allow you to play football like that anymore. They were physical in 08 and 10 as well and the defense in 08 and 10 was better that our defense is now. Ben was in his prime in 08 and 10 and we had multiple receiving weapons on all of those squads.

Our 24 squad seems sound in almost all phases but our strengths aren’t quite as strong as those teams in 05, 08 and 10. What do you think?

    Yes and no.

2024 has a defense that is comparable to 2005 but that is where my personal comparisons end. The 2008 Steeler are one of the greatest Defenses in NFL History. 2010 is much of the same. Difference between the two is one accomplished victory in the Super Bowl while one did not.

As for the team as a whole?! 2024s Offensive Line blows 2008s out of the water. Dan Moore is a much better player than Marvel Smith was. Issac is better than Kemuoeatu and Mason has more potential than Essex ever did. Frazier is a Top 3 Center in all of football whereas Hartings was top 10. 2010 though?! Thar roster was far better.

Biggest question mark is at QB. Russell still has the ability to make plays but didn't perform well in the last two contests. Big Bem wasn't Mr. Consistent himself bit he did have some rock solid outings in 2008 and was much better after his suspension in 2010.

In short?! In some ways I see the 2024 version of the Steelers better than the 2005, 2008 and 2010 squads but not as completely as Mark does in every way.

True that even if our o-line is not good this year, this is still better that the one in 2008...The 2008 o-line is the worst offensive line ever to win a super bowl!
