At least this wasn’t an incident where the Steelers were being stubborn on their offer.

There's a very long-winded story that ends with the punchline: "I left my harp, in Sam Clam's Disco". (Sung by Tony Bennett). If you have lots of money and blinders, SF is a very charming City.

It means Pittsburgh is no longer a good destination, especially for offensive players who know the Steelers don't have a quarterback.

Or that a person doesn't want to upend their entire life for a few percentage point raise. It's not like he stiffed us and signed with Cleveland for less. He went back to his old team. He's 34 and a fullback with a wife and kids who are settled.

Juju turned down $5M more from the Ravens to re-sign with the Steelers and play one more time with Ben. For some players it’s more than money

wonder why a fullback would not want to come to the Steelers?? Maybe cause he'd be playing special teams and no snaps. We don't use a fullback.

Smith does use a fullback when he has one. He did in Tennessee. He didn't have one last season. Heyward may line up there on occasion, but he is really an undersized tight end who doesn't block well, not a fullback.

    No that is not correct

Metcalf nails that ridiculous theory shut

    This explains it nicely

Juszczyk felt it would be good to test his market value, and the 49ers gave him the opportunity by releasing him.

There was interest from other teams, and Juszczyk was open to exploring those options for himself and his family. However, there was always a lingering thought in the back of his mind.

"I think, just to put it in the simplest terms, at the end of the day, it was too much to leave home," Juszczyk admitted. "I wanted to be a Niner, and we were able to get to a number that I was comfortable with. And then, we were able to make the deal, and I couldn't be happier. And I'm trying not to look back at all. I'm just happy to be there and know I'm locked in for two more years."

The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.

HA HA, still Pittsburgh winters aren't what they used to be, I'm sure it is enough to deter quite a few free agents.

At least it may just be the weather for the Steelers that players don't want to come to the Burgh. For the baseball team it's cause if you get to close to your incentives* you get traded.

Incentives were always odd to me. Let me pay you a great sum of money to play the sport you love but I have to give you more money to play harder.

Okay, thanks. I was just telling you what the post meant. Guys certainly consider more than money. I didn't want a 34 year old fullback anyway. It would be nice to have a QB though.

Some of this might be the position. The Steelers have had fullbacks before. We do not use them. If you want to play as a fullback, the Steelers are not the place to be.

When is enough, enough? He probably has generational wealth for his kids and
Their kids. I believe he has been in the league nine years.

I don't think it has any bearing here... he's worth making a reasonable pitch at..
But in the end, that offense is exactly what fits what he does.
It's like Tom Rathman, he just wouldn't be any good anywhere else.

He’s 34 and will be his last contract most likely. Staying home to finish out his career was more appealing than relocating and learning a new offense.

I do feel that Tomlins dealing with players is starting to be noticed by players outside the team.

    Deebo
    Ingram
    Blount
    Pickett/Rudolph
    Fields

The handling of those players does not reflect well on Tomlin.

And then Colon put out today that he has heard disappointing things about team culture coming from within the organization.

I put the blame on Rooney and Tomlin for damaging it.
