Like I've always said....if the browns draft you then your career has ended before you ever get started. Its not the players...its the organization. They've had good potential teams in the past but was never able to put it all together to have a great team.

time will tell. golson won't do us any good this year so we basically have 4 guys. 1 a rookie, 1 a head case but a guy we liked, 1 not very strong but working on it and also a guy we previously liked and our elder statesman. here's hoping grant is placed back on the PS and we are not done bringing in some help at corner yet. grant could still be valuable to us sitting on the PS at two positions.

I think we need to put Grant on PS and bring in a guy off waivers as well. Zach Sanchez or Alex Carter maybe.

He probably sucked bad on purpose and acted like a fool so he could get out of Cleveland ? Who could blame him?He may play great for us?

Definitely worth the gamble for me. I really like the recent moves we've made.

my concern was the part about him not taking to the help from other vets trying to get him right. we seem to be hoping for that and it seems like it just didn't land. after trying to help the kid the frustration turned into anger which is a bad combo in our locker room. we will be pretty thin in this room anyway with golson out and unproven. i hope they are right about this move.

Maybe not, here's a quote about this trade from around the NFL:

For Cleveland it's another reminder that executive vice president Sashi Brown and the new brass is in full-on rebuild mode with no concerns about jettisoning the previous regime's picks.

Low risk high reward. It's a no brainier.

He very well might be a lemon. He'll be cut and we'll move on. No big deal.

If you read his bio on wikipedia it reads like he had nothing but success from the time he was in high school until he claimed the starting job for the Cowboys. To have that kind of success and then to go to a mess in the Browns has to be unsettling.

Well he was quite the kickoff returner in his senior year at OK in 2013 when he set the big 12 conference record with 6 kickoff returns for touchdowns, he might be valuable for us on special teams, a thought to consider, and he did run a 4.35 40 officially at the combine............

He got by on physical talent. That doesn't work in the NFL. We can only hope he never sees the field on defense. How can someone in their 3rd season be that poor with technique? He can't tackle and gives little to no effort to do so. To be as bad as he is on defense he really had to just not give a ship. You can't possibly think he's suddenly going to learn technique and want to tackle. That ship has sailed. We picked him up to return kicks - period.

Because he did get by on talent and probably never received much coaching because he looked like he knew exactly what he was doing. I'm not saying that he will change or could be the second coming of Champ Bailey but I am saying he went from high school superstar to college all star to the worst franchise in the NFL for the last 20 years. Tough on the ego, so hopefully he wipes the slate clean and maybe DHB walks up to him and says you aint sh@t son I was a number one pick too, swallow the pride, rededicate yourself, study your craft and prove them all wrong. Maybe this is the guy Tomlin final puts his head coaching stamp on.

    I really hope not though...

He was sitting on the bench while other players out played him with regularity - in Cleveland. He's terrible on defense. The tape proves it. There's no excuse really. They teach technique in college also. He's a mess and at this point of his career, he really is nothing more than a return guy and #5 or #5 DB. He needs an entire season to learn our defense. Then he needs that full season and off season to work his ass off to learn technique and how to tackle. Not going to happen. These are things that are learned over a period of time...like 2-3 years with the good players that care. It's like a kid who takes a foreign language class for 3 years and doesn't show up and fails. Then he's hired as an interpreter and expected to suddenly do it. This guy is a return man and that's it. If he wants to someday play defense he'll need 2-3 years of hard work before he can handle that.

Frankly I'm surprised there isn't better talent available at corner. We could use the depth.

We can only hope Tomlin FINALLY puts a stamp on of the players
ESPECIALLY a secondary one where he is master

Remember they changed coaching staffs each year he was in stain land he had no continuity , he has all the tools to be a great corner he has the size with 4.3 speed, and here with a new coaching staff to make him into a good corner, put him on AB in practice and then coach him up based on his flaws, I think the new surroundings here will go a long way in his wanting to become a top corner, he should be a solid punt returner for us as well, a double bonus.........

Hey technically speaking next year we could have 2 1sts and a 2nd rounder starting at the corner posisitions.

Maybe it's time for pouncey to mentor and get into shape another Gilbert from Florida. I wonder if Marcus is mad he has to put an M in front of the name on his Jersey now.

Think the new money ball staff is trying to start from scratch. Everything from the old guard that wasn't working is out the door.
