The formation is surprising but not the fact they will be throwing him the ball, one of the reasons they drafted him is because he has soft hands.

exactly. I believe they said it was in the hurry up offense. similar to how they used parker, rainey and mendy some. it's not a new formation for them. I think to keep the D from subbing. they have to cover them with a LB. slight mismatch. as you say good hands also.

I think Justin Brown has at least 2 TD's so far.
One earlier in the week from L.Jones & 1 Friday night (never heard who threw it).

I think we will be creating a lot of mismatches, Will J. can catch too, going to cause defenses some headaches.

"The Steelers continued to mix up drills during training camp with a goal-line passing drill that was dominated by the offense. The prettiest catch of the period was Brown's acrobatic back-shoulder fade from Roethlisberger that bounced in the air before coming to rest in Brown's hands with Taylor hanging all over him. During the same drill, rookie receiver Justin Brown made safety Ryan Clark look foolish when Brown faked outside and caught a short touchdown pass over the middle."

Love what the article says about Troy. He's back baybee!!!

in other news, looks like Curtis Brown is on his way out. That's disappointing. I had high hopes for him when we drafted him.

Just making an assumption based on what the article says:

    • Cornerback Curtis Brown filled in for the injured Cortez Allen at cornerback and continued to struggle. He was beat a number of times during individual and team drills.

He just can't seem to get over the top. He's basically been disappointing since he's been here. He's had some very good special teams moments but struggles at corner. If he continues to struggle, I just don't see him making the final 53. Is he eligible for the PS?

No, he's been on the roster far too long for PS eligibility.

Dang. I hadn't heard anything positive on him this camp, but that's the first negative thing I've seen. I agree this is a make or break year for him as a CB, although he could definitely continue to make the roster for ST play. And since he'll be on the team, I'm willing to give him the whole preseason to prove himself. It took Gay 5 years to be worth a dollar, and he wasn't even much of a special teamer.
