I hate speeding tickets. I haven't had one in almost 10 years. It's not the price of the ticket... it's car insurance premium going up. That's what gets ya.

Slamming into another car might get you, too.

Im sorry you feel that way, but then again you're an angry dude, so I'm not shocked. Whats the matter? Haven't "won" a message board fight in a few days so you decided to pick one with me? Sorry but you'll need to seek your entertainment elsewhere.

Looks like I touched a nerve. Regarding that bit about anger, are you familiar with the concept of projection? Your comparison was idiotic. I'm sorry you can't handle being confronted with such a simple truth.

Regarding my entertainment, you already provided it, so thank you.

100 MPH in a Porsche is dangerous but I was more intrigued with DMX doing 114 MPH an a 1966 Chevy Nova II.

I seldom drove a motorcycle, but 2 stories came out of it. On the second, I was doing 130, no face shield, my eyes started to water, heavily. Couldn’t see crap. Didn’t want to hit the brakes. Backed of the the throttle, blinked a lot, drove by memory, and lived.

I also have memories involving railroads and abandoned slaughter houses. The half dozen friends I am still friends to wonder how we lived.

Times have changed. Apperently, now you shouldn’t even ride a sled head first down a cobble stone Street?

Then don’t drive at a 100 if you can’t control it.

It depends largely on what your driving. If I was in a 66' Nova I would not want to be over 100 unless I was on a straight open road with no one around. The Porsche AB was in is capable of hitting 100 and slowing down from 100 incredibly fast. Not to mention it "handles like a Porsche". It certainly wasn't the smartest thing to do, but its far from the end of the world. My guess is the Cop probably wrote the ticket up for around 80 or so and AB was on his way.

I have been over 100 on the road more times than I can even remember. I have never in my life been in an accident. You can't really correlate speeding with causing an accident. Its like @jeh1856 said, if you cant control a car at that speed, or you don't have a car that can safely handle that speed, don't do it.

The only one I ever got was for going 66mph in a 55 zone. The officer said he'd cut me a break and wrote it up as 61 in a 55. When I stood in front of the judge he mumbled something about Barney Fife wasting his time, waived the ticket and court fee, and sent me on my way.

And now we get to the actual point here. You've done it, so anybody saying his behavior was stupid and dangerous is criticizing your past behavior, too.

At least now you are acknowledging it wasn't a smart thing to do. It is also important to keep in mind that this is a 30-year-old man with young children.

    66 GTO heavily modified engine

Funny, when they raised the speed limit from 55 to 70, somehow I quit getting tickets.

I'm not passing judgment on anyone or questioning anyone's skills behind the wheel of a car, however the results of an accident at 100 mph are not the same as one at 70 mph, 55 mph, or 25 mph and that is a fact. The other fact is this, no matter how good a driver you are, you can not control what others do. You can not begin to imagine how many accidents I have see where one person is driving perfectly legal when someone else pulls out in front of them, drives into the side of them, or simply doesn't see them at all. You might be Kyle Petty behind the wheel, but when grandma pulls into your lane while you are going 100 mph, it leaves you with much less time to react than it does going the speed limit. But that is why they are called accidents and not on purposes!

I would hate that. Paper straws are the worst. It's like sucking a drink out of a toilet paper roll.

Yeah, I had to chuckle reading the posts of the Mario Andrettis being able to handle a car at 100 miles per hour.

No offense to anyone but to quote Squinty Clint, you're a legend in your own mind.

My first speeding ticket was in '93... 40 in a 25. I went 16 years until '09 and got 2 within 6 months... bad luck. It took 3 years for my insurance premium to drop down to normal. I don't speed anymore. Too damn expensive.

That`s why I go for 10 mph over the limit. Any more and the Barney Fife`s might pull you over.
