bad news for ebron. they say he had a terrible pro day. probably moving him down the boards to a late 1st or into round 2.

Most people who were at his pro day said it was OK. "Good, but not great". One big name media guy said "I'm hearing he had a terrible pro day" and people ran with it. I don't think it will effect his stock much.

His drops are definitely a problem. Then again, I wouldn't say having Bryn Renner as a QB is doing him any favors. He was always a borderline 1st round pick for me, but likely will still go Top 20.

What I heard of Hurst sounded promising, though. He could be a steal due to his leg injury.

I always did like hurst. he's got lots of time at LT. if he drops to the 4th or 5th he will definitely be a steal.

There is a video on youtube of Nix vs. Alabama in the championship game. Watch it and you'll see what I was talking about. He was a load for the Alabama O-line to handle. If the rest of the Notre Dame front 7 had played the way he did, that would have been a much closer game. Also, he was double teamed a lot on pass plays.

borderline 1st round player. I probably like him more inside in a 4-3 but is definitely capable of playing the 5 Technique in a 3-4.

I don't really care about pro days and the combine, Mac, theres tons of film to go on and I like what I see

Most coaches will tell you that they hope a guy they like will struggle at these events. Healy even said it about Wheaton last year.

Agreed. One bad pro day isn't changing my opinion of him. If say he broke a leg, yeah, he's dropping on my board. Man come to think of it, that would be a disastrous pro day..:smiley1:

I'm not just basing this off of a combine and pro day. that would be crazy. drops kill drives. missed blocks kill drives. he's got plenty of good and bad on film.

Shhhh, dont put the whammy on him! Probably break his ankle stepping off a curb now.

Unfortunately, I think he is going to go before we pick and if he is there and Dennard is as well, I think we will go with Dennard given how badly we need help there.

Drafting Nix at #15 isn't good value for a player who will most likely be a 2 down player.

Exactly. Does anyone really believe that these guys are as good as they are going to get??? Ebron has serious talent, he'll be coached up and hone his craft.

He's got skills for sure and couldn't he benefit from Heath's presence? I'm a Heath fan! I want him to play for a looong time. He needs help IMO. Bringing in a young talented TE could only benefit #83. Proactive is always better than reactive in my view. Why wait until we are desperate? Why not extend a great Steeler career? If Ebron could take the load in year 2 and Heath could slide to Spaeth's spot, he could play a lot longer IMO. And two really good TE's for #7.. Happy Happy

False... Idc if he's on the field for 2 downs as long as it ends up being 3rd and 11 lol If he can be a big time run stuffer (in the mold of Casey) then he absolutely has value at 15. There are other players I like better, but if they are all gone I'd still be happy with Nix. He is a very good player.

If that logic applies in reverse we should draft any LB from Kent State. Also Carnell Lake was a UCLA LB if that helps erase your nightmares.
