I wonder how this changes the draft. Id think that Meyer would eye Fields or Lance to run his system as opposed to Lawrence. Lawrence isn't exactly a statue back there either. But i wouldn't confuse him with a Watson or even Tebow anytime soon.

 

This'll set them back even longer.

 

How long before "health issues" force Urban back to the tv studio? I give it three years at most.

Not what I would've done. Certainly they could've done better. This should be an attractive job. Jacksonville is a nice city. They have the 1st pick, over $70 million in cap space, with some good young players.

I can't believe that they interviewed all the top contenders and settled on Meyer. Going straight to a head coach in the NFL also scares me when you're talking about college coaches. Especially a guy with health problems and has been sitting out for two years.

 

I thought they would get Mike Tomlin.

 

The question is would you rather have Meyer or Tomlin as your coach? I know it's a no brainier, but just curious.

 

Tomlin all day & twice on Sundays. Last thing the Steelers need is some shady individual calling the shots.
