Welcome Zach Gentry. Get used to hearing HEEEEEEEAAAAAATTTTTTTHHHHHH!
The headline is some very dramatic thinking. The guy only caught 49 passes in his college career. Heath Miller caught 70 his sophomore season alone at Virginia.
Gentry does seem to be the Jesse James replacement, though supposedly Gentry is a better blocker. He's certainly got the size.
I'm not even sure Gentry is Jesse James. I think he would have been available later in the 7th or in UDFA.
He's an ok blocker with inconsistent hands. He is very very athletic though.
Personally, I would have loved to get Jace Sternberger somehow.
I wouldn't hold out alot of hope on Gentry. Definitely like Spaeth, but not as good of a blocker.
I know we always joke about it when we take a tall TE but he just might be a long term developmental Tackle.
Gentry’s stock dropped when he ran a 4.9 40 at the combine which is horrible but at the Michigan pro day ran a respectable 4.65.Needs to add upper body strength to that 6 foot 8 body frame as he has decent blocking technique but will have to be stronger at the next level.I thought he had very reliable hands but don’t watch the Ohio State tape for that opinion. Interesting stat is he is the second draft pick by the Steelers to change positions as a freshman in college. Was drafted as 4 star qb out of high school.I think he could have become more seasoned by staying at Michigan for his senior year.
He'll probably be out of the league in three years.
Alejandro Villanueva Jr.?? or maybe he's a better version of Jessie James??
We're gonna need some strong soap and a hose to wash the Harbaugh off the new guys!
Heath Miller was a 1st round draft pick. To expect Gentry to be anything close is freaking insane. Morons.
Im not sure Gentry even makes the 53 man roster.
I'd prob just use him on special teams to block field goals
He is an early fifth-round pick, one of those picks Colbert claimed he was so thrilled to get for Antonio Brown. If he doesn't even make the team, that is a significant failure by the Steelers.
AV played TE and WR in college so you never know.
Holy cow Scribe do you like any of the Steelers picks this year?
