I grew up just north of Pittsburgh and will always look fondly at my memories there and all parts of Western PA.

You know, just being from Pittsburgh means nothing if they haven't named a bridge after you. ;)
I've always enjoyed my visits back to the Burgh, but alas, have never rode the incline, even when I lived there in the 50's/60's. Did some research and at one time back in the early 1900's there were something like 15+ inclines to carry workers to and from the mills down below from the South Side.

And you now live in the Mojave?? When I went to Pitt a few years ago, being from So. CA., I was AMAZED at the number of trees and how green everything was!

My bumper sticker: "Thanks to Mother Nature and Gov Moonbeam - Beige is the New Green" We can't have green out here - it would clash with all the real and faux body tans.

Same here in Santee! Everything is a lovely shade of brown. Do you have a bazillion cars going north on 395 right now? Trout opener tomorrow!
    PITTSBURGH!

I haven't been over near 395 for a few days now but the traffic eastbound on 18 through Phelan which leads to 395 was crazy busy yesterday and with a ton of motorcycle groups with 20-30 in a pack (are they a common fishing population? If so they must all be toting telescopic or articulated rods).
