Over the last four games Ben Roethlisberger has outplayed Tom Brady.

    Consider:
    B.R. T.B.

    Pass Yards 1446 1058

    Completions 131 93

    Completion % 66.8 67.4

    Sacked 8 7

    Interceptions 3 4

    TDs 12 8

    QB Rating 102.6 97.6

Playing at home, I like our chances :herewego:

What are the 4 game numbers for Brady with Gronk?

Edit- with Gronk 10 touchdowns 2 interceptions 6 sacks...

    11-2
    10-3

That's all that really matters to me.

    This next game is HUGE!

Not sure, but Gronk only missed one of the last four games, so if you include the Denver game Gronk had 4 catches for 75 yards and 0 TDs. I doubt that would skew the stats much.

Big Ben will need to play like he has for another 7 weeks. If he can do that, the Steelers have a shot at winning it all.

I disagree. He is a matchup nightmare. His presence alone opens things up for other players. Our defense is going to have their hands full on Sunday afternoon. As I said in another thread I'm cautiously optimistic.

While I agree Gronk is a matchup nightmare, the thread is about Ben's play compared to Brady's over the last four games. And even with Gronk present, Ben has outplayed TB over that span.

You know who else is a matchup nightmare? Antonio Brown. And Gronk's play vs his over the last four games isn't even close.

I understand the intent of your post. Would Ben's numbers be the same without Brown? Or Bell for that matter? To me other than Brady gronk is the main cog in new England's offense. It isn't just about receptions or yardage. Without him it limits what they do and makes their other receivers easier to cover. That's why I asked what his numbers are for 4 games with as opposed to without.

I understand what you're getting at, but as I pointed out, even taking away the one game that Gronk missed and replacing it with the last one he played in, Ben's numbers are still better than Brady's.

Gronk being out last year meant nothing in our boys' favor. Just got to roll in there Sunday loaded for bear and get the W. If not, it isn't the end of the world. Only stat that matters is W's and L's regardless of who has who in the lineup. Sure would be nice to get the W. The team we saw last night ain't gonna be the same team in our house on Sunday. The team they played in the playoffs last year wasn't really the team they saw in the film room... Key to this is adaptation and adjustment and a consistent O keeping their foot on the gas.

    GO STEELERS!!!!!

Where was this Ben early in the season? He's almost making me forget he could overthrow a barn at 20 yards.

When you throw the ball 60 times per game, there will be drops. Insert JuJu back into the lineup and there will be less drops. If they take away Bell and Brown we must ride JuJu, Bryant, and our tight ends. What’s VM’s status? We need him healthy.

I'm pretty confident we can win if we get into a shootout. The Patriots are going to do all they can to take Bell out of the game early and force Ben to make errant throws, so we need to establish the tempo from our first drive on.

Gronk has 7 TDs on the year, he is good between the twenties with 879 yards, have to shut him down in the open field and since dupree cant pass rush might as well put him on gronk for a good size and speed matchup dupree is faster than gronk, so at least start him against gronk and if it doesnt work out early then make a change....

Ben usually puts good performances back to back.

A few years back didn"t he have 12 TD's over two back to back home games?

Yeah, back in 2014 vs. Colts and Ravens. And then after the Ravens game, the Steelers proceeded to lay an egg vs. Michael Vick and the Jets.

What was maddening about this whole situation: the Jets were terrible that year and nowhere near as good as the Colts and Ravens. This was almost as embarrassing as the Tampa Bay loss weeks before.

Uncertain. Tomlin said his availability will be based on practice participation, so basically, wait and see.
