This may only bother me, but Tomlin continues to take the ball first in every single game we win the toss. We NEVER score on the first possession (maybe 3 here or there). So why give the other team what is in my opinion a HUGE advantage by getting the ball first in the 2nd half. Wdn't have mattered yesterday, but in general, I cannot understand why he continues to blow this.

I see your point but I disagree. I wouldn't put OUR defense on the field first. Even though the offense isn't good, it's better than our defense. Our defense gives up second half drives immediately after halftime in every game. This defense can't be trusted to start any game. At one time I use to like to see our defense on the field first, but they are not good at all.

I was actually happy that he was doing that this season. It seemed like he's deferred fairly regularly the last couple of seasons and it regularly just meant the other team scored first. Of course, when you're inconsistent on both sides, does it really matter all that much?

It also doesn't help when your KO returner (Archer) can barely make it to the 15 Yd line (14 on our 1st possession). Talk about a buzz kill. You know also the first time if/when he does make a sizable return the yellow hankie will negate it. I wonder why he isn't instructed just to take a knee in the end zone regardless. I doubt he'd make it to the 20 even if the other team all ran off the field right after the kick! There's an old eastern Europe ethnic joke about something similar that I won't repeat here in 2014.

It's also sad to see the "Young Money" squad turn into the "Young Panhandlers".

Right? Why wasn't someone telling him to stay in the endzone?? Our starting field position kills us in EVERY game. As far as the coin toss, well like the rest have said, do we really want to put the D on the field first?

Agreed- the way we've been returning, if it's in the endzone, it should automatically take a damn knee. We've produced nothing with all the attempted juking and jiving.

they said during the broadcast that Tomlin asks Ben what he's "feeling" and if he feels good about things they will take the ball and put the O out there first.

Not sure how this shows ineptitude, there's no huge advantage to receiving or kicking. And with how our defense has been, it's more savvy than ineptitude to receive.

It was either Gumbel or Green. I can't remember which.

Really you want to get rid of MT because of his receive-vs-defer decisions?.......I could think of SO many other reasons!!

Yeah the announcers...from their meeting/interview they have with some players/coaches and such. That was one of the things that was asked.
