As I was watching the Colts/Texans game, I was looking at JJ Watt- wishing we had him. He reminds me of Troy in a way- he's like a teddy bear off the field but on the field, he's like a rabid grizzly.

Would any of yinz give up Antonio Brown to get him?
If not, who (if anyone) would you give up for him?

No on Brown and I don't see any other players other then Ben that would get him. Maybe a Timmons and Heyward package.

Good question, best player for best player?
Seeing that we seem to be able to evaluate
the WR position better than other positions.
this hypothetical could be a positive for the Steelers.

No way would I trade Antonio Brown. They could offer up half their team and I still would keep Brown on the Steelers. His work ethic and chemistry with Ben would be impossible to replace.

Ben has proven that he can play with lesser WRs. AB for Watt would be a steal.

Yeah I think Heyward would have to be part of any deal for Watt, whether to the Texans or another team in a 3-way trade. We couldn't have Heyward, Tuitt and Watt on the roster. All three are too good to be in a rotation, and if we absorbed Watt's salary we'd have to get rid of Heyward's. Then you'd lose Heyward's chemistry and leadership for someone who may not fit in with the other guys.

While I love Watt I don't see how making a hypothetical move for him would tip the scales in our favor.

Watt comes with a hundred million dollar contract and it's highly unlikely he would have any reason to give a discount, even with a 10% discount that would still make him a 90 mill cap hit, nice to dream about it, but it just wont happen, and the only player they would even consider trading JJ for would be big ben............

Lol, It's probably not the first time I give someone a headache on here & it won't be the last!
I never said I would give up Brown for Watt. I was just curious to see what yinz would do- and who yinz would give up for JJ.
We are missing the presence of a guy like Troy or JJ on our defense. We have good leaders and guys that the other guys respond to. But we need that player that the opponent has to worry about.
But I couldn't give up AB to get that player. He's a 3rd of the 3-headed monster! The badass B's? The Beastie B's?
    (Another headache? Lol)

Nope. I look at it this way... Is Watt better than both Heyward and Tuitt? Yes. Is that difference greater or smaller than the difference between AB and our # 3 and 4 WR (Wheaton and DHB). I say smaller.
If we do a deal AB for Watt I think we weaken our team rather than strengthen it. Tuitt can become a star and Heyward is a really good player as well. We'd be turning a position of strength into a mediocre one, while bolstering a position in which we are already really strong at DE.

Why trade the best WR for the best DE? You may get a better response if we were doing said deal for the best CB. I'd still keep AB either way, but that's just me

While I love defense and he did come from the Wisconsin Badgers program, no I wouldn't trade AB to get him.

Completely agree with this. In today's NFL, you have to put up lots of points to consistently win. The old mantra about defense wins championships doesn't ring as true today as it did 20 years ago. IMO, what wins championships today is playmakers on offense and a serviceable D. Plus D line is not our weak link on the D.

Is JJ wrecking the league this season like in the past? Doesn't seem like it so far.

No need to get rid of Heyward. Watt is a pass rusher. Just list him at OLB like we used to do with Kevin Greene.

I think our best bet would be to fabricate some kind of off-field misdemeanor and then offer a 7th for him on the quick.
