I have seen a lot, and I mean a lot of negativity on here lately. I think as fans we sometimes forget that this is the same ownership that has brought 6 Lombardy trophies to Pittsburgh. it is the same front office who have kept us relevant in a league that has teams fall down and not get back up for a few years. examples ( jets, falcons, bucs, and bengals) and I know this is gonna piss some off but a head coach who has won a championship and been to another. I know they have missed on some draft picks but name a team that hasn't. I said in another post once look at the pats drafts the past few years. I bleed black and gold and always have. one of the things I like about the way they run things is something colberts said a few weeks ago. tearing it down and starting over is not an option. we will always be relevant as long as we have the current staff and front office in my opinion. ownership speaks for itself. they are the best. bottom line, end of discussion. I am not happy with 8-8 but look at it closer. I read an article I think on nfl.com not sure but it said that the steelers and packers have had more injuries the past 5 seasons than any other franchises. I don't know if its true but it has to be close. it also said that until last year the steelers had not had the same starting oline for more than 3 games in a row for 4 years. including the super bowl year. I think people forget the job the staff did that year. its all about the present and I get that. right now it looks like we are not the best team in our division but I think after the draft we will have as good as a team as anyone. I know people are gonna point out negatives but as steeler nation I wish we would all just look at it close and understand how lucky we are. (spoiled too) I know former players and have a lot of friends who are fans of other teams. I know that they wish they could go into every season knowing that they have a chance. knowing that their front office is gonna do everything they can to put the best team on the field. I know former players who know that the steelers are one of the franchises every player looks at as being competitive every year. so just for the people who think the sky is falling because lance moore isn't 6'9", al woods was an all pro, Jericho cotchery is not replaceable, and Mitchell doesn't make our defense a ton better immediately. take a deep breath. put your trust in the people who have made this franchise what it is and have brought to championships. the people that make it so easy to love this team. besides, if we were that smart we would be scouts, coaches, or even executives. GO STEELERS!!!!! thanks for letting me vent

Fine, but I just want to say that the reason why we're not scouts isn't due to a lack of intelligence...we just chose different careers.

Never said lack of intelligence. I meant football smart. By that I mean can this guy fit in our locker room. Can he play in our system. Can he execute what we are trying to do on the field. I ainy saying that these guys are smarter than anyone. I will say when it comes to the game of football and the inner workings of a franchise they might have the average fan topped

You speak of injuries and my immediate thought is that it's probably not MT's fault but it has been pretty consistent during his tenure here.

Lol. Just caught that. Either i am an idiot or spell check screwed me again. Probably the first. Lake always drops in winter. It is on way back up and no the bridge isn't fixed yet. Suppose to be by June so that means December.

Ok, Do you feel like we can compete for
a SB? Do you agree with our player evaluation?
How about player developement? How about
our cap mgmt? How about clock mgmt?
Do you feel our players are prepared/motivated to play each and every game? When you pay
your hard earned money to go to Heinz Field,
do you feel you are getting what you paid for?
Do you see a well run, exciting team on the field
that has a chance to compete in the playoffs at a high level?
We can do better and we MUST. 500 might be fine in Tenn? Doesn't cut it
    around here.

I am not saying that .500 cuts it. these are pro athletes, they should be able to motivate themselves.

I have paid my money to go to Heinz field several times and have never been disappointed because I know that there is a possibility
    of a lose

I do see a well run team. that is my point. watch some other teams. living down here I am stuck watching the titans, falcons, panthers. its brutal sometimes.
I don't know of a team that plays at a high level every single week. everyone has down weeks.

it amazes me how some we forget the RECENT championships. I mean we have won 2 and been to 3 in the past nine seasons. to me that's pretty damn good. do I want more sure but I am not gonna blast the team for every little move they make.

and yes we have a pro team here in ten but here in east ten trust me when I tell you .500 is not fine. this part of the state is all about college football and I know that below .500 cuts it up there.lol

I guess my thought on this is, if we all just praise the team, this message board is going to get pretty boring pretty fast. Obviously, there are some people that will never be happy about the moves the Steelers make. For the most part, though, I think Its great to have so many differing opinions. Helps make the boring offseason a little more tolerable.

I agree, and I think as long as the thoughts presented - whether in line with the organization or not - are done so in a respectful manner, it furthers productive discussion on various topics de interest.
