With the Steelers track record, we should never doubt them on any WR pick ever again! :applaud:

Man, Coastal, you're harsh on Landry Jones. So somehow those crappy snaps by our third string center are Jones' fault? I was there Sunday and when Finney was hurt and Hubbard came into the game, I don't believe one shotgun snap after that was on target. Even the ones that Jones handled seemed to be off to his right and low.

I wouldn't go that far and I can sum up my thinking in two words: Limas Sweed.

My issue with their use of the second-round pick this year wasn't Smith-Schuster. I questioned the pick because their need for secondary help was greater. Obviously, the Steelers made the right call on that one.

I was wrong about the JuJu pick. If JuJu puts us over the top this year by taking some heat off of AB and Steelers win lombardi #7... I'll never question another draft pick by Colbert and Tomlin.:icon mrgreen:

It isn't that Jack. After the first one he KNEW the center sucked. Keep your eyes on the ball. Easy as that.

Well, we do agree that the center sucked, lol. But I can't fault Hubbard too much. That's not his natural position.

I can think of 1 draft pick in the last 10 years that I had an issue with... that long snapper last year. WTF. Other than that...how on earth can you criticize a draft pick with out seeing them play for a couple seasons and with out knowing the facts around making that pick? It never made sense to me how people get so worked up over draft picks. I complain about picks 3 years after we draft them.

CB was a position of need. WR didn't make sense in the 2nd round with Ayers, Coates and Rogers on the roster. I was wrong. JuJu is much better than all of those WRs. And Bryant has been a head case. It was a logical pick. Good foresight by Steelers FO. I thought the '08 draft was gonna be the best since '74. On paper it looked great.

Another out of the box PWP rant coming, lol.

Ju and DHB are good enough with the ball in their hands that we could actually run some Wing T . Both of them are very hard to bring down and both also have top end speed . We could use this package to run buck sweeps to each of them from the Wings . There is also a nice passing package from this that uses 1 Wing and the RB a lot. This could be Ju and Bell and use DHB as a blocker .

Not that this would be our staple just another look we could show a handful of times a game with the potential to break big plays .

Just because you don't see it on a regular basis in the NFL doesn't mean it couldn't work . How many Teams have a Ju,DHB and a Bell ? Their skill sets are what leads me to believe it could work effectively. Both Ju and DHB have showed they can break a tackle and outrun the rest . In a Buck Sweep that is exactly what you are looking for it is designed to get the wing 1 on 1 on the edge. I think those guys can win that battle most of the time .

No one hits on a position 100% of the time. The Steelers are very good at evaluating WR talent.

    Jacks right.

    :hi:Much obliged, lol.

In all seriousness, how much is player evaluation and how much is player development? I think we have a good mix. Mad props to Richard Mann!
