Maybe if the OC doesnt' know how to disguise the plays and use others as well on those plays .. A good OC will pray they key on a guy you see this and bam we doing that .. As stated our other OC'S way to simple and I don't think either of the other gadget guys were as good as Ray Ray in the open field or as a WR ..

I agree and all the sets I hope we run all have a running element to them.. the 3 by 1 still has a RB the bunch has a RB the Ace has a RB .. I am not suggesting no RB type plays I am suggesting plays that attack horizontally and vertically with both runs and passees.. I hate empty sets ...

JuJu hasn’t played less than 200 snaps outside since he was draft and as high as 393 snaps, so this is a dumb narrative.

They will continue to move him inside and out just as they have been.

    From the video conference:

"JuJu, What is the biggest goal you want for yourself that you're focussed on in particular?"

"Playing more outside. Simple as that."

JuJu doesn't seem to think it's a dumb narrative.

He already plays outside, you realize that right? Suddenly though now the sky is falling because he may play more outside. And it was Candas idea, too.

JuJu and his antics have as much chance of ruining our season as Silverback has of saving it. Way too many moving parts for our entire season to be handcuffed to one WR.

JuJu can play outside, can we find the dependable release valve? Ray Ray? Freiermuth? Harris?

You realize nobody said he played 100% in the slot or said the sky is falling, right?

Yes, your strawman is a dumb narrative.

The fact that JuJu may be more worried about his numbers and his next contract over team goals, not so dumb.

I’m rubber and you’re glue, LOL seriously

Psst, FA’s have been concerned about their numbers in contract years for the entire time there has been free agency. And gee golly, lots of them have put up huge numbers! How awful if that happens.

Can't do anything for some folks who don't realize the reality of the situation for players in the same position as Juju.

They don't seem to comprehend that players can be concerned about themselves and work towards team goals at the same time.

Some people just have an agenda.

I see Claypool and JuJu playing outside as a great plus -- two big, strong guys with good hands who can also run and wrestle CB's for the ball. I also think Johnson and Washington sharing the slot is ideal. They provide a nice change of pace to one another.

The only way I see Ray-Ray playing more is if we are hit with the injury bug at WR. Heavy sets require blockers at WR, i.e. JuJu and Claypool. 11-personnel means you're going to have to sit JuJu, Claypool, or Johnson for Ray-Ray.

Maybe to give Harris a break they go 4 or 5-wide and just play empty.

Here's a SteelersDepot article highlighting the non-JuJu slot work from 2020:

Johnson isn't going to be sharing a job. He is going to get as many snaps as any receiver on the team.

I guess his drops had a big impact on my view of him. While I like his work ethic, he tends to take his eyes off the pass while looking upfield. If he catches the ball then he gets more than half the snaps. If he doesn't he gets fewer.
