And then lose in the first round. What aren't you understanding here? You need to be able to do both things to be successful.

While it sucks, you can’t loose in the first round if you don’t win enough games in the regular season to get there. This theory of yours that the Steelers are only concerned with winning regular season games is silly.

I think Ben can be good this season, the running game will be improved, he won't have to throw 40-50 times a game.

Obviously you need someone who can do both get to the post season and make a decent run. I get that. Tomlin/Ben can only do one of those things and hasn't done the latter in a long time.

Just because they lost in the first round the last two times, that doesn't mean it will happen every time they make the playoffs.

Hope springs eternal I guess. But if I'm seeing my team lose to lesser talented teams on a regular basis, I gotta change something. But I'm not an NFL owner so why do I keep wasting my time talking about this?

Ben easily gives us the best chance to make the playoffs over Rudolph, Haskins or whomever else happens land in the backup QB spot. He also easily would be the best choice going into the playoffs should they happen to make them.

I actually have more confidence in Ben taking the team on his shoulders to win in the playoffs than I do with Tomlin leading the troops. MT has zero ability to game plan strategically against any opponent. A team could have the #1 Run Defense and the 32nd pass defense and he will play that team the same as he would if he played a team with the #32 Run defense and the #1 pass defense.

    You know what I guarantee??
If he does lose....He won't be the only one.
Plus like I said earlier by this Green Bay should get rid of A. Rodgers. Hell he will only get maybe 2 the NFC championship and lose. I mean really once you make the playoffs if you don't win ...what the hell the difference does it matter what round???
I mean why sign L. Jackson 2 big money he loses in the playoffs...everytime. B. Mayfield if he can get there he loses eventually everytime. I can go on, and on. Sounds dumb when I do it???
    Just wondering???

It is something you're right. But any success Canada has needs to have buy in from Ben. As they say it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

    Off topic: Love them doggies!!!!!!!

In my family we decided to make a game of it. Not a one of us thinks Ben makes it to game 17 so we are going to all write down what game we think is his last as a starter for the Steelers.

First, I want to say I am very disappointed but not surprised that Steeler fans are turning their back on Ben. All the talk is that Tomlin this and Tomlin and that he has never had a losing season blah blah blah. The fact that is TRUE is that Ben has never had a losing season EVER in his career. Yes Tomlin went 8-8 last year without Ben, but if you can remember, I believe we had the easiest schedule in the league that year and managed an 8-8 with Mason and Duck. I guarantee if Ben wasnt hurt we are 12-4 or better that year. All this is of course a moot point because no one will ever actually know what would have happened. The real truth however is that Ben is a WAY better QB than anyone we have on the roster this year or probably next year. I doubt Ben plays past this season but he does give us UNDOUBTEDLY the best chance to win this year and I will never suggest we tank a season just for a chance at a draft pick that is at best a 50/50 shot to be something.

Again Ben isn't as good as Tomlin in the non-losing debate.
    2006 Ben 7-8 (losing)
    2019 Ben 0-2 (losing)

Ben is keeping pace with Tomlin in playoff disasters though.

He made it through last season, I'm not worried about making it through this season, he doesn't take that many hits anymore.

Why my friend are you using that win loss record. U can't do it.
Why... 7 - 8 ...15 games he might have won the other.
0 - 2 as far as we know He might have won 14 straight. Wouldn't be the 1st time he started the season with 2 loses , and finished with a winning record.

The facts are there, Ben has a losing record in both of those years. Tomlin has him beat in the non-losing sweepstakes.

Actually the far more logical conclusion is that the team leadership sees a good regular season and a tough postseason (or a near playoff miss), and thinks “we’re close, let’s tweak things to try to get over the top.” In my view off-season mistakes have been made to try to take the next step. It’s not failure through lack of trying, it’s just simply making enough wrong decisions and being subject to enough bad luck to cause the team to fall short when it matters the most.

    Dale Lolley tweet today..

My response to tweet and article.

If Ben needs the added motivation of people saying he is done and over with just to be competitive then yep he may be done and over with.

If it gives him a chip on his shoulder, I’m all for it. He’s 38, been playing a long time, if this makes him dig deeper, all the better.

Of course, none of that will prevent him from being injured which is where I think most fans concern lies when regarding Ben.

I have made a lot of money off of taking the opposite of what Schein says.
    I'm being totally serious.

I am still amazed as to how and why the Bengals believe that the next "Anthony Munoz" is still on the team. For that matter, as much as I like Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd, to say they are essentially a Wide Receiver away from competing is a bit much. Even if all the aforementioned are firing on all cylinders, how will Joe Burrow fare after running for his life..... again?!

All this said, this is Adam Schein we are talking about. All the more reason his statements should be taken with an atom of salt... if that.
