Funny stuff, but I'll believe he is playing when I see him on the unnatural surface in the Superdome. Maybe the Steelers push their luck and have him give it a go out of desperation. Sadly, that desperation is about two weeks too late.

This is starting to shape up like the Ben vs. 49ers debacle from a few seasons ago.

Was there an injury involved with that one? I assume you are talking about 2011.

Ben’s ankle. But this isn’t even remotely the same situation.

Tomlin left Ben out there to take an absolute beating...He couldn't even move, and was getting hit every play, Never understood that one...

Game wasn't even close...Ben hobbled into the playoffs with the No.1 D...Then we lost the infamous Tebow game...

That was the most furious I have ever been at Tomlin...I was screaming at the TV like Mick was when Rocky was getting mauled by Mr.T...

Ben literally could hardly get back to the huddle, and the next play they would pound him again...And Tomlin just stood there with his arms folded like " I'll show you, We're not gonna take him out, and look like we're soft, You can hit him every play for all I care " which they did...

If they win today I will be elated...But shocked

damn chargers. good thing I never stayed up later to watch the ending. I think I turned it off after Ravens TE made the 68 yard TD. Looked vaguely familiar to how it goes for the Steelers defense lol

But yet Ben had a little rib injury and jogged back on the field ready to go and Popcorn left Dobbs in there because of the flow of the game. Can't make it up folks. Loss.

Hopefully JuJu is a go. Going to need all the mojo they can get.

That was the straw that broke the camels back for me. I have been on the fence with Tomlin for a while now. I finally fell over the side. You simply can not take victory for granted in the NFL. That quarter and a half of "protecting" Ben may have cost us our season.

That was a rare game I didn't see. I have to agree that I'd be very surprised to see the Steelers win today. Their current situation was created in part by Tomlin doing the opposite, giving away the game in Oakland by sitting Roethlisberger most of that second half when he could have played.

Exactly, and it is particularly frustrating to see the Steelers needing a huge upset to even make the playoffs given the shape of the AFC. If they could get in, the Steelers would be a real threat. They should have beaten the Chargers. They did beat the Patriots. The Chiefs aren't the team they were early in the season without Hunt. The Texans are certainly dangerous, but they can't protect their quarterback. For all their flaws, the Steelers are dangerous. They just aren't beating the best team in the league on the road kind of dangerous.

It seems ridiculous to say this, but the Steelers could very well be the best team in the AFC playoffs if they get in. Besides all the reasons you already listed, the Steelers should be healthy if they get in. It seems like the AFC Playoffs are finally set up perfectly for the Steelers, and thanks to poor coaching and poor execution they may not make it.

I don't know about being the best team, but they would certainly have a legitimate shot against any team in the conference.

I expect JuJu to play. Cant hope for the Ravens to lose to the Browns next week.

Season is on the line today. Rub some dirt on it, even if he isn't effective, him being out there makes them account for him.
