I don't know if they have persimmons in the north. I don't remember them until I moved south. I could be completely wrong.

    Dobbs is a great guy.

Throughout his time here in Pittsburgh, he spent a few hours of his time nearly every Tuesday at a special needs day care center, reading and interacting with the kids. He did it regularly with no fanfare, no publicity, no agenda. Simply to help the community and give of himself to those less fortunate.

His salary was fully guaranteed. (5th year option of his rookie contract.)
It is the last year of his contract, so it can't be spread out to next season.
The Browns eat it all this year, no matter when they cut him.
(Unless they can trade Mayfield to a team willing to pay part or all of the contract.)

Yep. If you think about it, what a great life. He's made and is still making a lot of money in his youth and not taking any wear and tear on his body. Provided that he manages his money well, when he hits his mid 30s he should have millions in savings, some great memories and stories to tell of being in the NFL, and the options of continuing to coach or start a second career as an aerospace engineer....with, most importantly, his health still intact.

I know a couple of brothers from HS whose nephew is Dorian O'Daniel who was a back up LB/special teamer for the Chiefs. He's a UFA now and Im not sure if he's getting a lot of interest so, according to his grandmother who lives near me, his career may be over. But in 4 years he's earned a few million bucks, been to and played in 2 Super Bowls, and is a relatively healthy kid. Even if his career is over at 27, he's got such a great head start. Great life experience, money, connections, and most importantly his health.

I really didn't care that Harrison signed with the Pats. It was the other crap that pissed me off.

3 years and must be on the roster for at least 3 games a season (PS does not count). Have no idea what the min payout is, but a player can start collecting as early as age 55 and avg payout is something like 46 grand a year.

I just Google it before I posted that as surprised myself. It used to be 4 as I recall Cliff Stoudt was the first player ever to qualify for a pension without taking an NFL snap.

I know they’ve got them as far north as Maryland, but no idea after that.

Did Dobbs have one of the iconic plays in Super Bowl history? Without there is no Super Bowl 43. They cast him aside (Tomlin). After all that he gave. Common.

Because he made a big play in the super bowl the Steelers should let him do whatever he wants? Whenever he wants? Pay him however much he decides he’s worth forever?

Was he an integral part of the defense, that everyone loved when he wore black and gold . . . Oh wait, we’re talking about Dobbs.

I live farther north in zone 5

I had to Google it because I had no clue what they are and my hobby is planting and growing all kinds of different things

There are varieties that can survive here but like hazelnuts and peaches they may never make fruit

The problem is they blossom early and frost kills the blossoms therefore no fruit

I have a lot of trees growing very well that I never get anything from, walnut, hazelnut, apricot, cherry, pecan, ….

Iconic Play. Again, with out, Tomlin has 0 Super Bowl victories. The situation was mishandled and that's on Tomlin. Maybe if they handled him better in his twilight years none of this would have happened. He is an Iconic Player. He was cast aside and he was pissed because of being misled about playing time and asked several times to be released.

You can say that, but without a working crystal ball it’s a fool’s errand. Harrison doesn’t make the interception, but the pass is incomplete. They attempt a field goal and miss. They attempt a field goal, make it, but we take the lead back on the ensuing possession. You’re throwing **** at a wall, hoping it sticks, and parroting it as fact.

I can do it as well. If Ben hadn’t thrown a pick 6 against Green Bay…

I didn't think so. All My time up North I had never seen one fruit. We have lots of Pecan, Walnut, Persimmons, and Peaches on the land I'm on now.
How about muscadine???....Do You have them???
They make great Wine, and preserves.

If the refs clamped down on Burfict, then he wouldn't have targeted Ben's shoulder with knee strikes, and inflicted brain damage to AB.
The next week, the Steelers were leading after 3 quarters, against the best team in the AFC (who won the SB).
Ben was shredding the #1 pass defense with an injured shoulder, and without the Steelers' #1 WR, #1 RB, or #2 RB.
With a healthy Ben and AB...
