I know it rarely happens that a rookie starts for lebeau but this isn't like other situations. Normally a rookie comes in and there is already a starter in place the last time a rookie came in and was able to compete without a starter being there was kendrell bell. I think he beats out worilds for the lolb spot and makes and immediate impact on our defense. I don't care about his age, his medical conditions, or his 40 time dude can straight ball

Why don't you go watch the Alabama- Georgia SEC Championship game. I'll bet you'll find an OLB that got run over to the tune of 300+ yards rushing.

O stop already. For Pete's sake. That Alabama team made many a future NFL player look like an idiot. That doesn't mean the guy can't ball, it just means that Alabama was THAT good. If you have any knowledge of the game of football, you know that it takes more than one guy to stop a running game...period.

I will ask these 2 questions....

    1. How many of those yards came running Jones direction?
    2. Of those times they ran Jones direction, how many times did Alabama double team him or provide extra help with a kick back block via a TE or WR?

You can't jut say, well they ran for 300 yards like it was all his fault.

agreed. alabama ran away from jenkins and jones all night. if they did run at jones they kept williams the te in to double jones. they also dropped jones alot into coverage in that game because they couldnt cover the yeldon in the flat or williams in the middle of the field. he still had 2 sacks and 6 tackles

Thanx for putting things in perspective!:applaud:

Good post, and easy to read, too! Plus 1
Not sure who everyone else thought would be so much better.
Yeah, Maybe Eifert would have looked good in Black-n-Gold, but I think we needed a linebacker more, right now...
Anyhow, good post, and good pick!
    GO STEELERS!
Edit... Sorry, not sure why the numbers you clearly put in your post didn`t show up when I quoted it.. That was NOT my intention.:facepalm:

Look what Bama did to Te'o. They took him from a top 10 pick and helped him drop into the 2nd round. They made many look foolish but I don't believe they made Jones look foolish. This is just hating to hate.

I don't think he starts. But one thing that is in his favor is that he is a pure OLB. No adjustment needed because he played DE in college. Now that being said hopefully it doesn't take him 3 years to see the field.
