Wish I could disagree. I'm trying real hard to be more optimistic. The Offense will come back intact which is a positive. As far as the defense, we can only hope for some improvement especially stopping the run and limiting the gash pass plays. Just having Cement Shoes gone helps the secondary. The big free agent splash is over. Can't wait for the draft.

Jon Bostic's two-year deal with the Steelers is worth up to $4 million with a $1.4-million signing bonus, per source. So team can keep cap hit under $2 M for 2018 depending how the structure salary.

Not really down, just concerned. And you know I was as high as a kite to see Mitchell done here. But the Bell signing best work. And that means Championship.

Well it don't matter who you sign or for how much nothing is guaranteed. Just Mitchell being gone upgrades the D now we just have to add a few more parts to it. Just think about something last year we went 13-3, we are bringing back the same players on offense and we are replacing Mitchell and trying to find a better option to play for Shazier. Notice I didn't say replace Shazier that is impossible however a couple new faces of D and a couple new coaches and I hope it puts us where we need to be in the end......:smiley1:

Bad form to quote myself, but with the signing of Morgan Burnett, I guess I'm psychic. Or psychotic. Can never keep those two straight.

    Bostic can run.

I kinda forgot how much I liked him coming out of Florida.

I think he will fit our defense quite nicely.

    2 years.

Just enough time until Shazier returns?:hmm:

Tell ya what, everyone looks good in highlight film... but I do remember really liking JB coming out. You can see the speed he plays with, hits hard, tackles well, has good hands. He's smart, teammates like him, and he has no real injury history. Prediction: with some real talent around him, with his youth & experience, Bostic has a good season here and looks like a steal, even if we go ILB in Rd1.

I don't think the question was could he play but if it was this clip shows he sure can. It also showed he has coverage skills which many think he is weak at. The big question will be can he stay heathy, if so we have us a very nice players and a defense that is back on the upswing.

I’m not so sure it’s psychic, it’s predictable. This is what the Steelers do year in and year out. Fill in the blanks with someone adequate before the draft then draft the best player.

There are no health issues around Bostic. He's had three minor injuries in his career. The knee injury last year was nothing, he could have played after missing one game.

Bostic looks like a decent player, average at best. Average is still a significant upgrade over what they had after Shazier went down, but he's no savior. I do like that he has some speed and seems to be a sure tackler, two things the Steelers were sorely missing at inside linebacker this past season.
