Maybe. Just like all of you are saying that he's an egomaniac, that he's demanding this and demanding that.

You don't have a clue what is going on, or if the team made an offer and what that offer or offers were. You don't have any real information, yet you are accusing Porter of all kinds of things with no comments on what the team may or may not be offering or their own behavior or actions in this process.

If all of you here were in the position that Joey Porter Jr is in, you would have your agent fighting for every dollar you could get. This BS of saying and thinking every player needs to do with less money than they are worth in the system they participate in because it suits you is ignorant and selfish. If you were at your place of employment negotiating your pay, and they were offering you an amount that is getting paid to people that couldn't hold your jockstrap, you would be furious. And oh, by the way, if you go out there to work today and get injured, we're only going to offer a contract that is half the money for half the length of the contract you are currently negotiating.

All this BS from everyone here that he should be happy to get what he is getting is just ridiculous. Go ahead. Deny it. Tell us how you would gladly take one for the team and sign for the same money as others that are clearly inferior to you at what you do for a living and smile about it. Let's see how many people buy that argument.

No I agree my comments about him wanting to be paid number 1 corner money are from reports not JPJ himself. I am just saying they should be able to come to a fair agreement one in which he’s not paid 1 corner money because he is simply not close to the 1 corner.

Still a big believer that this will happen very close to the last minute.

Nice to see positive comments from the agent.

I think this is how it goes down: Once they figure out the deal, Porter will come back to practice. Then the Steelers will say "he came back to practice, so now we'll sign him". Just like Hines.

You don't traded away young talented players in the hope(key word) that you can draft young talented players.

If Porter is worth the $33m, then I would argue he's worth at least close to the Sauce Gardner package. Porter is a bit older than Sauce (not much), but the level of play is roughly similar. Gardner was a 2x AP when traded for, so I doubt we'd get that. We'd be hoping for a 1st plus more in a deal, but I doubt we'd get multiple firsts.

I still hope we pay him rather than deal him. The only way I am okay with trading him is if we end up getting the capital (1st and more) to move up in the draft for a QB. If its anything less than capital acquired to trade up for a stud QB, then its not worth it. Better to just keep the high end CB and build around the QB's we have.
