I said he has played well the last few games, but he was invisible the first half of the season.

    Doesn't matter on both accounts.

Kyle is still one of the best. As for Mike and the Patriots spending?! He spent correctly, which again, is what the good coaches do. How much money a team has vs how proficiently it is spent are two different arguments.

For that matter, using the whole Franchise QB statement is counter productive. Doug Pederson had Trevor Lawrence while Jim Harbaugh had Justin Herbert. Much like the money, inheriting a Franchise QB is one aspect. How he continues to develop under that Head Coach is another aspect all together.

So why has he been the best IDL on the team?!

Derrick Harmon had flashes but also had his Rookie Moments when the season started. Yahya Black is much of the same. Benton is notorious for having slow starts to the season; doubly so in 2025.

Heyward isn't filling up the stats but to say he is washed because he isn't doing so simply isn't true.

Please....The 49ers make at least the conference title game 4 times in 5 years at one point(2019-2023) who is more that the entire 19 years career for Tomlin and the 49ers were very close to win the super bowl twice in 2019 and 2023.He was very unlucky in 2022 to losing Purdy and his backup for almost the entire game in the nfc title game in Philly. This year, the 49ers are 11-4 and still a chance to finish in the first seed and it will be the case if they win their final 2 games despite a depleted team!

    What a coach!

The rest is: Porter has made a play on the ball on 22.2% of his targets in coverage this season, the 3rd-highest rate among cornerbacks with at least 50 targets, helping him to allow a 52.4% completion percentage (9th-lowest).

    S. Payton had multiple losing seasons with a HOF Qb, and only managed to make one SB, and already had a losing season in Denver, and then a one, and done in the playoffs last year. So yeah You are crowing him to quickly.
    M. Vrabel had losing seasons in Tennessee, got fired, never has beaten our so called terrible coaching, and Has played the easiest schedule in the NFL this year, so Yeah You are crowning him too quickly.
Dan Campbell has done nothing, and might not even make the playoffs this year, another crowned too quickly.
McVay needed another HOF Qb, and the highest paid roster, and has never beaten this terrible coaches here in Pittsburgh. So that leaves You with Shanahan which I agree is a great HC, but has yet to win a SB. Yes You, and others Crown people too quickly.

Shanahan is a great HC I agree, but many of the others that some people throw around names have been crowned too quickly.
If You look throughout the history of the NFL. It's easy to turn a team around, it's very, very, very hard to keep them on that track.

Vrabel isn't the Patriots GM he wasn't the one doing the spending, Josh McDaniels probably deserves the credit for the improvement in Maye.

Nobody mentioned Tomlin he lives rent free in your head . Shanahan also had three seasons of only 6 six wins and one season of 4 wins .

This is a steelers forum.....and the 49ers were in a full rebuiliding situation in the first few season and still make the super bowl in his third season

If you compare him with Bill Walsh in the first 7 years with the 49ers,this is almost the same resume.....3 losing seasons in the first 4 seasons(with a super bowl season in the other season)and make a another super bowl later. The only difference,Walsh had Montana as QB vs Jimmy G or the last pick of the draft for Shanahan

Vrabel has a say in the decisions, like almost every head coach.

You just wanted to bash Tomlin nobody was comparing the two coaches . The NFC is weaker than the AFC which is loaded with young franchise QBs.

You can't blame Vrabel for this awful trade after his reaction at that moment

Now the current Pats GM and Vrabel are in the same page

The Steelers inability to draft and develop CB's over the last two decades probably cost the Steelers a couple of Super Bowls.

Every other team didn't have the overall talent that the Steelers had, so no, the same can't be said for them.

I know what happened back then my point was the HC didn't have much say about the trade.

Come on my friend. Just give JPJ his due. He's a pretty good CB that is getting better all the time. Of course he will have penalties, and a bad game here, and there, they all do.

CBs, and Qbs are the hardest position to draft in the NFL.
