Maybe this will help Joey. It has actually greatly helped me. It's one of those things that I had just never thought of but once it occurred to me I felt so dumb for not having thinking of it. Oh well. It's never too late to learn. This one's for you Peezy.

It's a 2nd degree felony but I'd say it will get plead down.

can't believe they didn't charge him with intent
it is interpreted as bad as pass interference or roughing the passer

I just figured it was unsportsmanlike conduct.

I assume he's not going to be allowed to coach the remainder of the playoffs?

How can a coach or player get in trouble in their own hometown after a Playoff win?
    Wouldn't everyone be happy?

Sounds like his career is probably over to me.

Around here, they tack that onto any charge if you threatened the victim in any way. I doubt he threatened to bomb the place or anything. ;)

Still, how the hell does a STEELER get into a beef - in Pittsburgh - after a playoff win?!?!?!

Either way, unless a weapon or serious injury was involved (doesn't sound like it so far), this will likely get plead down to simple assault and probation... unless Joey has priors I don't know about?

Didn't he get arrested in Vegas a few years ago too?

"In a court of law" yes. In the "court of public opinion" no. Just sayin'.

What I read said that it's a felony either way and is punishable with a hefty prison sentence either way and a huge fine. I seriously hope they can get this plead down but the statute that I read said it's considered more serious when you do it to a "public official" which obviously he did.

It's ok. We can blow coverages and miss assignments without him. KIDDING!

it sounded to me like he assaulted a bouncer and not a police officer. He did resist arrest, however.

Hefty sentence if he's convicted of the charges as they stand, yes. But felonies get plead down to misdemeanors all the time.

He has been arrested before for getting in to it with the cops. It was in Vegas or Denver or something like that. This might actually be bad for him. It was actually California. He got in to it with a cop while he was drunk and driving and he hit a cop's hand.

And from the sounds of it, he was in the "process" of assaulting a doorman. So my best guess is that he wasn't beating the crap out of him the entire time it took the cops to get there, but rather he was yelling banter, possibly spitting, cops show up, he resists, then gets arrested.

Where the hell are his friends? Lol

I think he's gonna be fired. Rooneys are strict with this stuff.
