Joe Hayden?

I wonder if we have seen the last of Joe Hayden since we signed a veteran conerback in Demonte Kazee yesterday?

 

POST DRAFT: Need to start playing the Where's Joe Haden game. Any sightings?

I did see this and do not know if this means retirement or not?



I do think Chris Harris Jr. should also be another vet CB we could be looking at for a 1 year contract.

 

Isn’t Kazee a safety?

 

According to Steeler depot, he can play either c.b. Or safety but The Steelers plan right now is to play him at corner.

 

Harris is past his prime, not interested.

 

That would explain why they didn't draft a CB.

 

I will remember this ...when We are getting burned by Wrs every other week.

 

He has never played CB in the NFL before. Maybe he still remembers how to play the position from his college days?

Haden and Harris Jr will both be 33 when the season starts.

 

kazee as they said can also play the slot. doesn't mean he would play the other teams top outside receiver. we need another slot capable corner. a guy that can play safety too is a plus. better than maulet anyway. probably better than norwood as well. we can actually play some dime defense now.

Also, are you forgetting about Levi Wallace who they signed in March?

 

Ahkello Witherspoon did play quite well down the stretch. There is some merit in that. Levi Wallace is also solid. Slot though... Cameron Sutton but.. that is more or less what the team has. Justin Layne.. man oh man... really wanted him to develop so bad. Sadly, he cannot. James Pierre is what he is and, there is not many other options.

 

Maybe We can always get 2 the Qb before He throws it. LoL

Tre Norwood also did quite well!! He can become better in Year Two.. health permitting of course. I still believe there will be options for the team to select come Training Camp. If not by then, the end of the NFL Preseason.

 

I could be worried for No reason.

 

I'm not interested in bringing back Haden.

 

I have nothing against Wallace, Witherspoon nor Sutton. I think all 3 are capable #2 or slot corners. I'm just not confident in either of the 3 to be that #1 CB. The team definitely couldn't have been rebuilt in one off season. I hope Witherspoon can become that guy. But as I sit here today, CB is the position group I have the least faith in.

 

I'm college he played CB .... So that does make me wonder. But at safety he's a solid player there.

 

They don't really need the old school #1 shut down man corner. They play a lot of zone, like most teams in the NFL, and when you play zone the old school shut down guy isn't really needed.

 

I feel a Joe Haden that has lost a step or two is as capable as any corner on our roster.

Unfortunately he's definitely lost a step and he was a part-time player last year.

You can't pay him what he wants for what he'll be playing.

 

Part-time due to injury, not performance ... maybe age is causing him to be injured or he is just unlucky?

If you want the best 53 I think you sign him, but maybe they want to sort these young DB's they have out and see what they have? I'm guessing that is the case. I don't know if Steelers will like the results though.
