Report in the TribLive online this morning that Haden will practice this week and, according to HCMT, might be available this Sunday against the Cheats based on what he is able to do. Let's all hope he is fully healed and ready to go.

A 75% Joe Haden got to be better than Sensabaugh.

But, I like what I've seen from Sutton. Maybe he will turn out decent.

I'm all for Haden if he can go, but most importantly I want him 100% for the playoffs. I hope he doesn't rush it.

Can Gay really not play outside anymore? He never seemed that bad on the outside during his second stint here?

If he is only starting back to practicing, what kind of shape will he be in?

As much as I want (and we need) Haden back I don't want him to do further damage. If we could at least wait to the final game and give him some reps. We are going to need him healthy for playoffs, and he deserves to play in a playoff game, for all the years of losing he had to deal with the Browns.

I’m sure if there was any real risk of him injuring the leg again the doctors would not have cleared him.

I would imagine it would be harder to do much more damage with a fracture. If it was a muscle or something else, it could be different. Of course, I'm no doctor.

Probably depends how high his pain tolerance is and how it would effect him.

I've broken a lot of bones in my life outside of one the pain was gone in a couple days. That one was far more severe than any of the others and significantly worse than what Haden suffered. I actually made my arm fold 90 degrees between my elbow and wrist. That hurt for the first several weeks and continued for a couple years after completing physical therapy.

I dont care how they handle it, he HAS to be available for the entire playoff run. If I had to trade a 100% haden for a #2 seed and a loss this week, I would do it in a heart beat. The Steelers HAVE to win in the playoffs. And they need Haden now more than ever. Losing Shazier has already shown the defense is in huge trouble. Steelers at least need one corner who can play.

If we can't get the Patriots at Heinz in the playoffs, then it won't matter if he is 100%.

If he is ready, he MUST play this Sunday. If he is not quite ready, he STILL must play this Sunday.

    We need home field.

Then you are a fool: The Steelers are not winning in New England in the playoffs. Not this year, not ever, vs Brady.

He must play this Sunday. If there is any aggravation, you can hold him out for 3 straight weeks, even a month, before coming back to play in the AFC Championship game, WHICH MUST BE AT HEINZ FIELD, if you want to see the Super Bowl.

Better shape than any other corner on the Pittsburgh roster. That answer your question?.

    PLAY. HIM.

A 50% Haden is better than Sensabaugh.

50% might be stretching it. More likely a 40%.

We need Haden... our secondary just need him. look at the defense before colts game and after. two different worlds. we must stop big plays if we want a win over patriots. and that secondary is so much stronger and with more confidence when Joe is on the field.

As much as they need Haden against the Patriots, no way in hell they should rush him back if he's not ready. That's how you get a player re-injured or have him suffer another injury because he's not right. They aren't beating the Patriots at any venue in the playoffs without Haden, but maybe the defense can be improved enough with a healthy Haden and a bit more time to adjust to the loss of Shazier come playoff time.

The Steelers best bet for beating Brady is a shootout. And we all know that Home Ben is much better than Away Ben. So homefield advantage is key, and that will be decided this weekend. If Haden can play, he needs to play. It's our best bet to get to Minnesota.

Brady would remind us of how bad Gay is on the outside.

We need good corner play, but if we can’t stop the run with solid tackling and can’t cover and tackle backs and TE’s, it’s not going to matter if Haden plays or not.

Just contacted Senquez Golson about a possible return: He's out with a severe paper cut to his right hand.
