Agreed. Heyward is the Steelers' defensive MVP, but Haden is the second-best player on that unit right now.

    Def MVPs: Cam / Shazier.

Several good performers, don't get me wrong, but the rest are not even close to the level of those two.
Probably V Williams, Haden and Hilton could get honorable mentions.
Watt will be there someday, just not now.

I think Cam is the defensive MVP, but Haden isn't far. What he does to our secondary is pretty incredible.

He has his issues, and he'll make mistakes, but dude is so solid -- he's exactly what the doctor ordered.

He also seems to love being a Steeler.

Of course, he was a Brown... lol

My vote goes to Shazier, but Haden has been amazing. I always liked Ike, but it's nice to not feel like there's going to be PI on every pass.

Heyward for me, dude's been a terror this season. He's the tone setter for this D imo.

Haden said, with no ill will toward Cleveland, that he wanted to play on a team that goes to the playoffs. I really believe now that he has his chance he is going to do something special.

So glad that the front office signed Joe Haden. He is the solid #1 this team needed and seems to be back in form after what could have been a disastrous injury.

I feel Cam Heyward is the MVP. And was slighted for the Pro Bowl. Pitiful.

Like many have said I just think Cam and Ryan are right there, I feel Hilton has been pretty darn good as well. Haden is good and I am so happy to have him and he may be why other are having such good seasons. I think we have many that you could give them 3 letters to so there is no wrong answer, lol.

Definitely gotta go with Cam. Haden is right behind him at this point though. The secondary has been a total mess in his absence. His return feels like the spark that starts a SB run. Ben is on a mission after the pats debacle, no more little brother ****e. It's finally clicking for Bryant. We get back Haden, Vance, Gilbert and hopefully Brown soon. Things are looking up.

Another guy that at least deserves a mention for team MVP...BOZ!!!

I know a kicker is not likely to ever win team MVP, but how many games has he won with his leg this year?

Hey where has W Gay been?
I thought that one game where it looked liked he took over the field organization of the Defense was nice.

mostly in on dime packages I would imagine. especially with Hilton's play. I saw him briefly vs Houston but unfortunately it was when he came flying up on run support and missed a tackle on a big play for them.

I would agree we are a different secondary for the better when Joe is in, but we are really a different defense for the worse when Cam Heyward isnt in........

Tie between Cameron and Shazier. Both are inseparable to me.

Both are integral parts to Butler's attacking "Eagle" 3-4 scheme and Tomlin's own Tampa 2 in 3-4 clothes. Essentially, they are thr foundation to that defense.

Both are needed and neither can fully unlock their potential without the other.
