I hope he's renting and not buying, he will probably be released soon since they drafted 2 safeties. His release would save the team 3 million .

 

I don’t wish I’ll will on anyone,but if your prophesy bodes true, that is good news. It would only be a case of the replacements making the team a better team. Although,the phrase “soon” will most likely be 3 months or so.

 

They don't get a roster exception for Shazier so they they can't waste a roster spot on the 90 man by keeping someone who isnt long for the team. So if Wilcox is out he will be out sooner rather than later.

 

But, I believe we are are currently within roster dollar limits counting draft choices?

I don't think they will wait that long to release him, they signed two safeties in FA and drafted two safeties. If there's a FA they're interested in they could use Wilcox 3 million.

I never cared for JJ much to begin with. He's like Mike Mitchell with even less cover ability.

 

I'm not so sure Wilcox is going anywhere until camp starts. He is the only free safety on the roster. Aside from Burnett he is the only one with any experience at free.
