I remember this guy from when I was a kid. Few have played the position like he did. For 14 years he started for the Raiders. Guy had 70 medical procedures and had a leg amputated. He left it all on the field. Great player

My first taste of pro football was through getting 1 station from Erie that carried AFL. The Raiders were nearly always on late afternoon, seeing 00 Otto block for Lamonica and Marv Hubbard was the thing that started my love for the game. Parents bought me a Raiders helmet for Christmas, kept it for years...even after I hated them lmao.

RIP Mr Otto, your play made this kid love football.

One tough SOB. Never missed a game due to injury.

    Damn...

Two of the Holy Trinity of Centers are now gone; Mike Webster and now Jim Otto. Only Dwight Stephenson remains.
