The reasons I think he takes this job if offered are.....The guys in his early 30s.Has been with the STEELERS 9 or 10 years.Colbert is a very good GM and is 55 (I think) so he is going nowhere.

Kahn on the other hand is young and has climbed as high up the STEELER ladder as he will as long as Colbert is still around.

What job in the NFL would be more challenging for a 32 or 33 year old exec. than rebuilding the Jets? If the job is offered and the money is right and he has final say over player personal and you give him at least 3 years to turn this mess around....If Im him I take the job!

Sound reasons but the Jets are a mess and he wouldn't have final say, Rex is in control, there was a press conference here and Woody basically handed the team to Rex, Rex is now Belichick in NY. Plus, their cap is a disaster and can't do anything with Sanchez with that idiotic contract they gave him at the beginning of last season.

:lolol: I forgot about that. How much is it again? Over $10 million per year? What were they thinking?

It's the Jets! :lolol: Here, found this little tidbit for ya...

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora has previously reported the Jets are $20 million over the cap for 2013, and Sanchez is guaranteed $8.25 million. On Sunday, ESPNNewYork.com's Rich Cimini continues to paint a bleak picture:
…There's no off-set in (Sanchez's) contract, meaning the Jets are on the hook for the entire salary regardless of how much he receives from another team. They could designate him as a June 1 cut. That would spread the cap charge over two seasons -- $12.35 million in '13 and $4.8 million in '14. Bottom line: He's uncuttable.

And that Myron, is just one reason nobody in their right mind should touch the Jets GM job.

Ok lets look at this possible Kahn hiring from another prospective.

Lets say he is offered and takes the job. Remember the guy is 32,33 now.

Turns the Jets around in 3 years. Just took a terrible team from 6-10.. 3 years ago to... the AFC Championship game three years later. Maybe wins game goes to Super Bowl maybe wins that... who knows.... Ok now he is 35 or 36. Just took a terrible team from 6-10 to the AFC Championship game (or better) in three years.

This guy at 36 could write his own ticket for the rest of his NFL career. And hes ONLY 36.

Or he may fall flat on his face.:shrug:Never have a winning season with Jets. And get knocked back to middle management for the rest of his career.

Thats why if Im him I take the chance. This is his shot!! Chances like this come around once in a lifetime. If that. Reach for the ring.

Is better to have tried and failed than to have never tried at all.

Man, you don't know much about the Jets do you. My best friend is a Jets fan, and there is nothing more painful for a sports fan, they will always let you down! Through poor play, bad luck or plain old incompetence, it's pure misery being a Jets fan! Then there are times they will tease you, make you think they aren't the same old Jets, on the verge of winning big only to tear your heart out, like a couple years ago when they lost to us, their fans really thought they were going all the way that year :lolol: Plus, I keep telling you, Kahn would not be in charge. Believe me, I live here, and people are running away from that job. As long as Woody is owner, the only thing he wants to do is grab the headlines from the Giants, that's what the whole Tebow thing was about. Meanwhile the Giants keep winning SB's and sticking it to them in the worse way. Woody doesn't get it. He just put Rex in charge of his franchise, does that sound like an owner who knows what he is doing?
