I do miss Cope, I also miss Bob Prince the great Pirate broadcaster, when the Pirates were actually a major league team.

I was at that game, sitting in the end zone where the jets missed those kicks..... I feel personally responsible for winning that game :yeehaw:

I was too young for Prince and grew up listening to Frattare.

Cope is too funny....he was asked a question by Wolf. He said- I can’t answer you, I’m late taking my 5 O’clock pills. What kind of producer is that DelGrecco anyhow? He’s supposed to remind me.

Who gets away with that on a live Playoff broadcast?

I found my wife in the back of a magazine (ok, not exactly) and imported her to Pittsburgh when I moved back. At first she wanted me to turn Myron off because she couldn’t stand him. Years later, when Myron passed away, my wife put him on our Christmas cards. He kind of grew on you.

His book Double Yoi is pretty good.

Cope was one of a kind. Very glad I got to listen to him as a kid growing up. I would watch the Steelers on TV often, but you know how family things go, and we would often travel and have to listen to the broadcast in the car. Bill Hillgrove and Myron brought the game to life for me.

    Hmmm.. Ha
    Well Okel Dokel...
    Yoi, and Double Yoi...

My favorite as a kid was when Myron was describing Tony Sigurusa, who was playing for the Ravens.
" I'm going to describe him, as looking like some one they send to break your legs, when you don't pay the bookie."
    LOL

Then of course your had the Bengals as the Bungoles, and the Browns as the Cleve Brownies.

He was one of kind. People thought he had an annoying voice, but everyone is Western PA and Steelers fans loved him.
