Are Steelers fans seriously still saying "Heeeaaaath" when JJ catches a pass? It was funny at first, and I guess it still is, but Heath has been gone for awhile now, but on TV, it still sounds like the crowd is saying Heath's name because, you know, a white guy caught the ball.

Do people just not know Heath is retired, or is it now a tradition to say Heath every time a tight end catches the ball? Or am I hearing things on the TV broadcast and they're saying something else now?

Yeah. Plus that wasn't exclusive to Heath, they did that for Tuman and Bruener also.

What's the big deal. You think with as much as Steeler Nation honors the legends of the past that no one would have a problem with this. Heck between the comments about seats looking empty and fans chanting Heath for Jesse which he feels honored to have them do by the way, it makes no sense. What next going to go through the stadium and force everyone who is wearing 58, 75, 43, 83, 95, 36, 12, 86 jerseys to turn them in?

I like it! It will be the universal cheer for all Steeler white tight ends from the day Heath retired until forevermore! What better way to honor the greatest tight end in Steeler history?

With the alleged "pathetic" crowd noise perhaps it's just piped in vintage stadium sounds from years ago when it was blasting at Heinz and Heath was in his prime?

I wish he could block like Heath. I mean maybe he's not that bad of a blocker and just had a tough matchup today but dang. Not gonna lie though. I miss Heath and always will. I probably miss Heath even more than I miss Troy and Hines. Dude was just a Steeler through and through.

Just curious, who would be your #2 and #3 all time Steelers TEs?

Oh, I don't have a problem with it at all. I always thought it was hilarious that the crowd yelled Heath for other players, and back when Heath was still playing, I just figured sometimes they actually thought it was Heath making a catch when he wasn't. I just think it's funny, and I was genuinely curious if it's "Heath" that they're still yelling, or if it's something else that sounds like it that is hard to make out on TV.

I was actually wondering if that may be the case. I'm all for it! It's still funny, though, if people do it not realizing.

I don't care if it is "wee Willie wimp the tennis shoe pimp", as long as they are cheering for a 1st down or touchdown.
I was at the Carolina Ale house and the Direct TV went out for about 12 minutes. I don't think I saw Jessie catch one today

I just came from the game and yes, the crowd still does shout "Heeeeeeth". But we laugh after we do it, it's kind of an inside joke. Yes everybody knows Heath retired but still does it for fun. I'm surprised we have to justify it. It's just in fun.

Anything is better than the load "gasp" sound heard around the Steeler world when he is set up to block Ben's blind side.

No justification needed here :) That's what me and my buddy out here (SF Bay Area) assumed... we thought it was funny last year too but were not 100% that's what was being chanted.

Having joked about it over the last several years, if I was at a game, I'm sure I'd be doing the same thing for fun.

    2) Bennie Cunningham
    3) Mark Bruener
Honorable mention: Eric Green (wasted potential)
    Dishonorable mention: Ladarius Green

I think it started from fans who were clueless at first but then people got a chuckle out of it so every time a TE makes a catch for the Steelers that player will be referred to as Heath.

It really has to be deliberate at this point unless half the fans are really that clueless.

Outlaw just doesn't have that same ring to it.

On a side Note: I would like to see the entire stadium yell T..........J...........WATT! After every big play he makes. (Kinda like how all the Bronco's fans say In...........Com..........Plete).

How many Pittsburghers does it take to change a light bulb?

Three, one to change the bulb and two to reminisce about how great the old bulb was,
