    we agree.

    he has much more upside.

Harris will never be discussed again as a 'top tier back' in the NFL.

Based on tidbits of things Harris said in the past I actually think he made himself persona non grata

And low and behold he was

Last season they got what they could out of him and Warren as they saw best helped the team

    Then they moved on

Just an opinion not an argument

The post of me saying here’s Warren signing the contract the Steelers don’t want him to sign? Yeah, thats called sarcasm my guy.

But yes, it’s ridiculous that you think that the Steelers like Harris better at this time. Extremely weird position for you to have.

That you meant it as sarcasm doesn't make it any less of a straw man. Whatever trouble you seem to think I have with sarcasm, you are having more difficulty understanding what I wrote.

I even went back and explained my full point again, but you keep writing that it is something different. My argument is that they preferred Harris the last three seasons. At this point, they don't see a huge difference between them, so they went with the cheaper option with more treat left on the tires. You keep ignoring that last part. I believe it was a mistake not to keep both. If they had exercised the fifth-year option on Harris, they would have both at a reasonable number for this season, then let Harris walk. That would leave them with one less hole to fill this offseason.

The only way their moves make sense is if they take advantage of the deep group of running backs in this draft and take one in the third or fourth round. The problem there is that they have so many other needs. Adding one more made little sense. Relying on Warren to take the primary load is a big risk given his relatively limited workload so far and the injuries that slowed him much of last season.

they will run w a stable of backs.

I will give Najee this - a BIG THIS. he was durable - with a SUCK OFFENSE for YEARS. we suck on offense. SUCK

that is on Tomlin. tomlin sucks

    Najee too, protected the ball.

    2 very big PLUSSES.

we will suck on offense with Tomlin

    most of us realize this.

I don't care if Franco Harris was in the backfield.......

this OLINE will be below PAR because of TOMLIN and lackluster coaching.....again.

I know you write a lot to say you don’’t think they prefer Warren over Harris. You just did it again. They prefer him because it’s cheaper. It’s silly.

Let me help you. Steelers chose Warren because they feel he is the better option. Period. No but but but. Stop being weird about it.

I'm not being weird about it. I'm clarifying my position because you and others keep misrepresenting it.

I think they see them as comparable. Based on how they used both backs last year, I think they realize Harris is better suited to being a lead back, but the difference is small enough that they went Warren because he is cheaper and because his body hasn't gone through as much wear and tear at the NFL level. Why do you keep ignoring that last part? Harris has been significantly more durable, but he has a lot of mileage on his body. That matters.

There is one other element I hadn't thought of until now. They get a better compensation pick for losing Harris than for Warren. This idea that it is an apples to apples comparison and they simply think Warren is better just doesn't hold up.

The poor assumption you are making here is that you think your answer must be right because it is simpler. That simply is not true.

I am not sold on Jaylen Warren being the feature back in Pittsburg and judging by the way the Steelers just used their 2nd pick in the draft to select Kaleb Johnson neither are the Steelers.

I would say it is even money who is going to lead the Steelers in rushing this year.
