Cut Larry O and bring Hargrave home.

Could have retained 2 had we known Tuitt was going to be a world class POS and hold the team hostage for TEO seasons and then drop out.

People (oddly) give him a pass, but I never will. None of his excuses fly with me and he’s a grifter con man who stole a bunch of money while screwing up our plans.

Definitely screwed up the defensive line. Paid his @ss and then he dipped. Water under the bridge.

I would take Hargrave back in a NY minute. But he is coming off a season ending triceps tear though. He will cost a bit but is only 31. Question is would he want to return?

Still have to grab a DL in the draft.

Wasn’t his brother killed? Not so odd cutting him some slack over that. Priorities, this is just a game and we are just fans.

A good perspective and I agree. I believe there is probably more to the story that we don’t know. Mental health is a real thing.

Frankly, I appreciate the Steelers loyalty to their players and wanting to do the right thing. We don’t see that enough in the world around us.

I think his mom witnessed his brother (her son) being killed and of course it wrecked their family. I have to give him a break, having something like that happening makes it really hard to come back and play football.

Shazier going down was the biggest loss. After that this defense was in shambles and still hasn’t fully recovered.

I’m going to say the last time they had a complete defense was early 2009 before Aaron Smith went down. Even though we made the SB that year, the D wasn’t the same. After that it was a carousel of misses such as Hood, Thaddeus Gibson, Curtis Brown, Alameda Ta’amu, Jarvis Jones, early Bud Dupree, Senquez Gholston, Artie Burns, Sean Davis, Terrell Edmunds, Devin Bush along with what could have been such as Jason Worilds, Shazier, Tuitt, late Bud Dupree, Hargrave, Cam Sutton

Hargrave isn't going to be cheap. He probably won't be 20 million a year anymore but probably at least 15. They have to invest some money into the offense. Have to sign a QB and need to sign a quality WR. They also will need to sign an outside CB.

Not sure that how much leaves them with. Might have to sign a mid DT and definitely draft one.

Yeah, this group was the closest to replacing him. The Bush experiment was a disaster.

The need to retool..... and have 8 picks with some conditional
They definitely can get of line of scrimmage help, a DB, and a WR...
    QB is a major problem.
    Round 1
    Round 2
    Round 3
    Round 4 (Conditional to CHI)
    Round 5 (from LAR)
    Round 6 (from HOU)
Round 7 (from ATL, DEN, NO, or PHI)
Round 7 (from ATL, DEN, NO, or PHI)

I don’t know if this is relevant or not to your hatred of how the Steelers FO handled Tuitts situation but I’m going to throw it out there anyways. I had a friend that worked for a company for maybe a little over 5 years. He found out that he had terminal cancer and let his company know. Shortly there after he was unable to perform his duties and just had to wait til his final breath about 2 1/2 years later. I’m not sure what the company’s obligation was at that point but they kept him on the entire time at 100% of his pay and benefits without batting an eye. I’m sure they could have made him go to long term disability at 50 or 60% of his pay but he became family to them til the end. Tuitts situation was entirely different but along the way he became family to them through his tragic dealings of his brothers death. He wasn’t ripping anyone off nor screwing the organization. I stand behind how the Steelers handled his situation and also behind Stephon on trying to get through it. I’m sure he is still having difficulty and I wish him the best and hope he can overcome his grief. Empathy goes a long way. People need more of it.

I am pretty sure we get to keep the 4th, and only owe Chicago a 6th for Fields.

Don't they owe their 5th to the Jets for Mike Williams?

This isn't my tracking... but yeah, we did trade a pick to have Williams sit a lot.

I think the Tuitt one hurt the most. He still had a ton of great play left in him, but we'll never know. Hilton looked pretty washed for the Bengals this year, but don't really remember before that. Hargrave may be almost washed as well, but we do love to recycle old players. I'd take the chance at the right price.

Hargrave only played 35-40% of the snaps probably why they chose to keep Tuitt instead.

I hope that whoever scouted, and recommended J. Jones is no longer a scout. We had posters on here saying he wasn't a NFL player.

Dude. We all lose people close to us, multiple times. Nothing is more certain in this life. Countless players lose parents, siblings, spouses, children and other loved ones. Never heard of any other person mourning away from their job for two years collecting paychecks stringing their wildly graceful boss along for all that time and then just quitting. Eff that guy.

The organization gave him a major pass during the first season. The second one??? Not from me.

Still feeling the ripple effect with letting a Hargrave go paying him then having to suffer Larry O = Mr. Mid at best.

Nah, I’m not with it. See my response to Blast above.

Yes, I agree your friends situation is quite different enough. And I applaud his company for that. My boss has done things along this line.

I was with the front office for the first year. Tipped my hat to them at that time. The 2nd season seemed fishy. Then the bs decision at the end with full pockets.
