Most defenses don't require players to master the astrolabe along with the playbook.

Agree, I even think he will out perform our previous #1 pick JJ.

I been holding out hope for J.J. , but it doesn't seem he can get strong enough . OC'S have almost negated speed rushers in 3-4 defenses . Even though J.J ran slow in the 40 his best on field skill is his first step. When I watch his tape he gets the corner a lot right off the snap and either he gets chipped right back into being blocked or the Offensive player just powers him back into position.

J.J. needs the Power to shoulder off that chip and continue with that half step edge, he also needs the power to make Offensive player buckle and squat which will also allow him to continue that half step edge .

LB Chris Borland of the 49ers just retired at age 23 after just 1 year in the NFL due to long term health concerns about repeated blows to the head.

Remember that guy they had named Glenn Coffee? He looked really promising and he called it quits after no time as well.

Instant Coffee? Actually I had to look him up because I didn't remember him at all. Turns out he's a paratrooper now.
