Okay, I'm reaching out to my all 22 brethren out there. Is JJ really as bad as he appears to be to those of us who simply watch the games and try to observe certain players from time to time?

In Thursday's game I saw JJ get owned by the LT and he seemed to just get absorbed into the lineman blocking him and unable to disengage. He had no speed rush, no bull rush, no inside move whatsoever. He also missed at least one tackle behind the LOS and didn't appear to be as solid in the run game which has been his strong suit to this point. As the game wore on and each defensive series became more critical, I didn't see JJ at all. It was all James Harrison.

I don't want to beat a dead horse, but my concerns about JJ being able to develop into something special at this level increase from week to week. I'm not so sure at this point that the spinal stenosis he was diagnosed with at USC is not affecting him more than we think.

What are you "dark room and a projector" guys seeing?

Almost as much of a surprise as you making a curt, snarky, passive aggressive comment when I asked a serious question.

Jarvis is underperforming. We all know this.
The problem is the message gets lost with the repetitiveness of the message. Kinda like the warning on a pack of cigs. Seen it so many times that no one pays attention anymore.

And the questions about Jarvis will continue to get asked, Glenn. He was a highly touted first round draft pick and frankly doesn't look the part at this point. I'm rooting for the guy to succeed because if he fails that's a major blow to this team.

My question was sincere. I know several folks on this board study film and see more than I do from week to week. I was just curious about what they were seeing and if I was missing something regarding his performance.

If you don't want see posts questioning Jarvis Jones' performance and ability, you might want to log off and head over to Facebook.

I seen him drop in coverage alot or at least I thought I did but u seem to have seen it different. Won't argue that he gets handled sometimes but he does show a good first move. I did see him get held twice

JJ pushed Solder around pretty good and had a good game against the 49ers who I think was an All Pro, name escapes me. His 3rd game was ok, dont know how he did last week.

I really dont think his stenosis is affecting his play. I still think he is headed in the right direction. I know people want to treat this as his 3rd year but its really his second.

Admittedly, I didn't focus on JJ every play. That's why I asked others to chime in. I saw him slammed (literally) by the LT once and he seemed to have trouble disengaging from blocks. Didn't see him dropping into coverage so thanks for that input.

Well I noticed him dropping when they brought blitzes from that side. Which makes me happy to even type the word blitz. Seems like it's been awhile

I just keep thinking about his 4.9 40 and his 12 reps which indicate that he's slow and weak. So far he's looked, well, slow and weak. But he was a playmaker in college in a tough conference. I'm trying to hang onto hope with this guy but it's getting harder and harder.

I'm pretty sure he came back and did 19 at his pro day a few weeks later.

Seems he is always just standing there after the play is over. Just average. Not what you want to see from a #1 pick. Dupree is already showing more upside...

Okay, time to chime in. I have been disappointed with JJ's play from day one. But we sort of agreed before the season started that we will give him another year, as many people were saying it's only year two, so after this year and he is still playing the same, will everybody that's still saying give him time will just shut up.

How much time does a guy need.? How long will it take to admit that he is probably the worst no. 1 pick in over a decade. After this year there is nothing wrong with saying he stinks as a no. 1 pick. Enough is enough.

Why, are you and others going to shut up until then?

I love how people ignore the games he had against NE and 49ers and focus on the negatives.

Blast, you act like he dominated those games. He didn't. He had a couple of good plays and then disappeared. That's his MO, unfortunately.
