Uh, Bleed, Lloyd was using hyperbole to make a point. The point being that JJ sucks. Sure he doesn't really believe that the runner up of the club championship could come in and get 10 sacks. Lloyd sees it, the Steelers see it, most so-called football analysts now see it. JJ is not an effective OLB. Keeping him on the team would serve no purpose except to remind them that he's a bust. My two cents.

And that should worry you! Because if someone doesn't offer him a starting job, he'll come back here as a depth guy and haunt your dreams.

This is becoming very likely. Low to no signing bonus. No harm in doing this until there is a better option. Then see if we upgrade through the draft or sign a veteran FA cut elsewhere during camp.

If no one offers JJ a contract, as Coach Noll would say, it's time for him to get on with his life's work.

No team is breaking down the doors for Jarvis? Amazing. I mean he is going to get it together any day now. We should sign him right now and this would be the supreme moment.

And then we all laughed and laughed...

Like the other poster said, hyperbole but it makes the point. Jarvis Jones is not a good NFL player.

You will be surprised when he gets in the correct system ...I hated the pick when we took him , his skill set is suited for multiple guys on the DL not a 3-4 Zone Team...If he gets in the right scheme I predict he will become a productive player ...

Jarvis is supposed to be meeting with the Cardinals today. Story says Steelers remain interested in resigning him.

Arizona interested in a used Steeler. Who would have ever seen that coming?

    Wrong

His skill set is ONLY suited to 3-4 OLB... the issue is that his skills suck.

He's not suited to being a DL in any way whatsoever

Yeah, I always found that puzzling. He also had a couple of snaps in the first New England game where he worked over Nate Solder pretty well, but other than that was mostly invisible.

    To all of Yinz....

All I`m saying is he`s worth a spot on our bench...

    Not a starter, don`t overpay...

But look at what sorry ass offensive linemen made this offseason in freeagency...

I think he is worth a cheap contract, as depth...

If another team wants to make him a starter, let him go...

And who else do we have on our bench, if the #1`s go down?...

    We stacked at LB?...

    Go STEELERS!

Believe it or not, Interest in JJ is heating up:

Outside linebacker Jarvis Jones, the Steelers’ first-round pick in 2013, is visiting the Cardinals on Monday, an NFL source confirmed.

Jones, an unrestricted free agent, has other trips planned, so it would be a mild surprise if he agreed to terms with the Cardinals today.

    Lmao!!!
    This doesn`t crush my soul...
And I got some great laughs out of reading the debates...
    I still stand firm.
I would have liked to have kept him on the cheap...
I wouldn`t have paid much for him...
And it figures that Arians would "do us the favor" of "taking him off our hands"...
What did he pay to do it?
I believe we still have enough talent, at LB, to not sweat this, but injuries happen...

And he would have been a decent policy to have on the bench, or rotate for depth...

My heart ain`t broken, but, I still think he is a legit NFL LB..
and has potential to get even better...
Best of luck to ya, Jarvis!

    GO STEELERS!:yeehaw:
