They both went to Oklahoma State, so they probably keep in touch.

They weren't going to win many games trying to force the run.

If they can get a ILB for him that would be ideal, a late round draft pick isn't worth it.

I see it as a preemptive thing. If he quietly works through the season, people are likely to only look at stats and think he wasn’t good enough to get on the field more. With what he’s done now, he puts out the news that he’s going to be under-used in this team’s new offense. That will explain his low stats this year, so they’ll hold him back less. IMO.

That is where you are wrong it is the depth of the WRs that scares DCs. The ability to put a 4th starting WR on the field is what most DC can't account for in their game plans. Not a single team out there has a 4th WR with the skills of Washington.

Teams are not allowed to shift coverage to any one WR; or if you put 4 WRs on the field you end up with Safety's and Linebackers covering Washington.

Right now being able to go 4 deep should be a huge advantage for the Steelers. Loosing that 4th starting WR would really hurt the Steelers because they do not have that true #1 WR yet. They need to be able to spread out the defense and create favorable matchups with their multiple WR formations.

They really can't afford to lose Washington, unless it is for a player that would make an immediate impact for the team.

Tomlin says it isn’t so. Schefter is pretty reliable. Who knows though.

I was at practice today and Washington made two outstanding catches during the 2 point conversion drill. Both were contested but he came down with both of them.
Having said that Mathew Sexton put on a show at practice today catching everything in sight. He ended the practice with an amazing sliding catch for a TD when Haskins threw a lazer just inches off the ground. The whole offense erupted and ran to him after the catch.

There isn't time to get separation on 2 yard routes.

    Who?

I guess Washington could fall in the who category & his agent is making an effort to rectify their bottom line.

Like the response Clive. I just don't know about the underused part. The grass looks greener over there is what I'm going with.

This may be our formula to winning the Lombardi. Haskins throwing lasers inches off the ground so that no one can catch them except Sexton

Haskins actually looked pretty good today. Watching him up close you can see the zip he has on the ball is pretty impressive. Rudolph looked good as well completing a perfectly thrown deep ball to Isaiah McCoy. Things don't look good for Dobbs as he wasn't included in any of the drills. He was there dressed but didn't participate, maybe he was banged up a little from the game on Thursday.
One big change I saw in the kicking game is now PH3 is holding for Boswell and Berry was holding for Sloman.

Haskins has been doing very well in practice, he needs to translate that to the field. He didn’t do that Thursday. He wasn’t bad but not as good as hes been in practice.

Seriously though reports from Jets say Denzel Mims (2020 2nd) is on his way out. Straight up trade so we have a new young WR with talent and reasonable contract?

No probably something more reliable like someone in the Cleveland or Baltimore organization trying to start problems.

And Seattle wouldn't even entertain a Metcalf for Washington trade.

I think differently. I have watched over 50 years of football, I know what I am looking at. Our WR's arrow
is pointing way up. They are very young and improving.

Why wouldn’t I be? Seven brought him up, it’s really not about AB, it’s about DJ being able to get open.

I place Washington ahead of Diontae Johnson due to the drops. He has strong hands he fights for the ball and has the strength in his legs to push forward when needing the extra yard. The reason they are high on Diontae is he may have the ability to be elusive. Washington has flashes of Hines Ward in my opinion. I would keep him on the team if we can smooth the relationship and make him feel needed. I don't believe he is a number 1 receiver.
