I don't think a few concentration drops means that he has bad hands though. He has made some spectacular catches in just over a year and a half. He has great mechanics attacking the ball with his hands and not allowing it into his body too often. His drops are inconsistency in concentration or detail. That is a pretty easy thing to fix over time. I don't feel the same about our other talented young WR however. Claypool has shown poor catch mechanics thus far this season, letting many balls slip through his hands when they should have been easy catches. He has let some get into his body, while others he seems to "clap" his hands on the ball instead of going up with his hands already together. This is surely fixable, but its more than just concentrating or paying attention to detail. It will involve learning how to catch in a slightly different manner. People tend to be much harder on Johnson for some reason than they are on Claypool. Maybe I haven't noticed DJ as much with all of Claypool's catching struggles, and I am making less of a deal over something that is a bigger deal... but I don't think so. Just my opinion, I guess.
