James Starks?

I figured, why not add to the daily question as to whether or not we should pick up another team's discarded players.....

i don't think james starks is needed, but with all the uncertainty at LT i am suprised that someone hasen't been brought in at least in place of jolly or something to at least look at.

max may be back practicing, but we still don't know yet about that knee. it's very early for it.

 

I'll tell you looking at the posted article, I would look at Andrew Datko as a possibility for the #9 spot at OLine over Essex and Beachum if they truly cut him. IMO he is a RT not a Left, but that may provide some flexibility if Gilbert were to get hurt. Right now, we would have Foster out there. Don't think I like that long term. Datko is out of Florida State. I would at least take a look at him on film if I was the FO.

They have nothing on Defense I would look at.

 

That would be crazy if they cut Starks...while he has had some injuries...still he's carried the load for them at times. But right now theres a little log jam at RB with the Steelers...yes Mendy isnt completely back and Redman is dinged up...still...

 

a log jam of injuries. ford,redman,clay and mendy all out of order. dwyer has a bruised shoulder. batch is getting beat to heck on a new knee. rainey gave us a scare in each of the 2 preseason games so far. i'm suprised some moves are not being made. we have several guys that they just know are not going to be here, so why not take a look? unless they are waiting for the first cuts.

 

Well Ford has very little chance to make the team...Clay is gone...Mendy we know what we have with him. Dwyer played in the last game and was fine. Redman said he's better and has been practicing fine. Mendy is the only one that has a "serious" injury. Batch's knee is fine until something happens. Right now some people are saying they may not be able to keep their top 5 as it is...who would you really get rid of to pick up Starks? Rainey? Redman?

 

Ive always felt like Starks was very "meh." On high flying offenses like NE, GB, NO... you can plug about anyone in and have them be successful.

 

someone to run plays in practice and a game and a half in preseason. we could cut any number of guys right now to have another preseason ball carrier. of course we are seeing if these guys can carry the load, but if one more gets hurt we are dead in the water. we will have most likely til week 5 before mendy would play. clay going down and ford right off the bat hurts, til the games start.
